Hi~~ Firstly, I am a fat guy. : D I can not remember since when I became so fat... Recently when I joint the parties with my colleagues or friends, heard that some of them are so intrested in vegetarian, said that how harmful the meat is, particularly the red meat such as pork, beaf.etc...They also quoted some scientific reserches which suggests that animals eat meat have the higher chance get sorts of ill such as cancer or someting else... Actually, I like meat very much, I can not image that the life without meat for 1 weak? 1 month? So I just want to hear your opinions, how abt your diat harbit? How do you think the vegetarian things?? Have a nice weekend...

Hi,jacksong:) In my opinion, you can reduce the proportion of meat in everyday's diet, or have it every other day, even you can find somethings instead of it. As we all know meat can supply us energies which eggs can also do. why not have a try. Actually I am a vegetarian, not completely. I am thin and healthy, usually I am seldom sick. It is comfortable for me now. you should take more exercise, you know if you are fat, you will feel very hot in summer.so have more exercises my friend. Good luch to you:)

You won't see the changes right away. My parents became vegetarian when they got married at 28 & 23 yrs old, until now the doctors found that the fat they ate before still resides in their body. They have prevented lots of sickness that runs in the genetics but it is difficult to take out all that we have already consumed for so many years. Good thing they decided at an early age, they are stronger in their age now and away from diseases that are usually found in people their age.

Hi Jack! I think proper diet and exercise is the key to maintain a healthy and fit body. Even if you are a vegetarian, if the diet is not balanced and there is no proper exercise it wouldn't be good too. I've been a vegetarian since birth and now that I'm 30 yrs old I've maintained a lean body because I try to eat in moderation and I don't over indulge in food. I eat to live not live to eat. I thank my parents for raising me up with this kind of diet because it would be really difficult to stay away from foods you really like. All humans weakness is food because it is our basic necessity. As long as you have a clear goal of what you want with your body, let this be your motivation. Just think you want to live longer and be healthier. There are lots or recipes online for substituting meat diets to easy vegetarian food. It's easier if you learn how to prepare your own food and you know what you're eating. The internet has wide use when you want to find a certain diet. And if you're in the US, you have the sources like legumes, beans, soy, and different kind of protein substitute. Good luck to you!

You crave for meat but we are rational animals and in control of our urges if we choose to be. Giving up meat will help you be more healthy but is not sufficient alone. Research shows that communities eating a diet high in oatmeal and oily fish suffer less health problems and eating slow release energy rich foods like oatmeal will help you feel full and energetic for longer. Exercise is perhaps more important than diet, try to do something that makes you breathless 3 times a week and build up from there all the best urban

I have never had any weight problems. This is how I maintain an even weight. I get up at 6 am and do yoga for 45 minutes each morning. I always eat a good breakfast of half a grapefruit, oatmeal porridge, toast and honey, and Hot tea. No snacks before lunch. For lunch I have a single helping of vegetables, salad, potatoes and meat. no snacks until dinner when I have soup and salad,a cooked green vegetable, and a piece of apple pie ( or other fruit) No snacks before bed at 10 pm. I do not agree with vegetarianism.

I think you don't need to be a vegetarian to lost weight... I think we need some meat to balance the nutrients that our body needs. But eating more vegetables than meat is good, I am recommend it to you.

In my own, I think just continue the habit that makes you happy and comfortable. Being a vegetarian or a meat lover is not bad, for as long as it doesn't bother you at all. Just think first the good and bad side of each party 'coz you might regret it. And besides the decision still yours. Good Luck... I mean God Bless on your decision! Tnx :)

Hi there, what you said is so true, nothing more important than be comfortable and happy, haha. As for healthy, the most important thing is not the healthy of body, but the healthy of mental/psychology, right? Thanks for sharing your kind idea. Best of luck to you...

Jacksong, Being mentally healthy is the most important of all, and that's great because you are biking to work and exercise is one of the greatest preventors of depression/anxiety. Furthermore, so is a balanced diet. I'd recommend having healthy snacks around too, so if you do get peckish and want to have a snack, it's a healthy snack you choose. Best of luck to you!

You don't need to be vegetarian just to lose weight. You still need the meat for your energy. Proper diet and exercise will do. But if you really want to be vegetarian is good. Some said that "egg" can be exchange for the meat. But still, you need to control and you need to work out for sometime.

being fat or obese makes you at high risk for certain diseases, i.e. diabetes and cardiac problems... it is best to know your ideal weight based on your age and height.. losing weight needs strong determination on your part, the initiative should be sustainable.. exercise is a good way to lose excess fats as you sweat it out... a good diet would be the South Beach diet, you could research on it, as it does not jeopardize your health adversely.. vitamin c and juice with carnitine also a big boost to your system.

Hi obe, thanks for your kind suggestions.. Actually, I am not obese, hahaha Lucky~~ And the secret is that I became fatter and fatter since I fell sick yrs ago..It is not a good recall, so just forget abt it.... But I am sure the reason I became fat is not meat or something else, it is there was something wrong inside my body... But now I am better.. Anyway, Have a nice nice weekend....:))))

Hello Jack. I don't think that it is that easy just to wake up one day and be a vegetarian. Some people can do it but it's rare. I wanted to be a vegetarian before but I just could not. I just love meat too much. If you really want to be a vegetarian then I think you should start small. Eliminate certain things from your diet then go from their. For example, eliminate beef from your diet. Don't eat beef for a few weeks then if you feel that you can do more then maybe you can eliminate pork and so on. You can still lose weight without giving up meat. I know it's hard but you can do it.

Hi Tessa,I think it's hard for me to eliminate meat from the diet.It will make me not want to have meals. But surely, I will take your advice to start small, make the progress step by step, haha. But my girlfriend is a vegetarian, usually when we have meals, meats belong to me and vegetables belong to her,so I am fatter and fatter and she is slimmer and slimmer.now I am almost twice her weight.I am so sad. Thank u so much for advices,, have a great weekend...

Hi jacksong, Becoming a vegetarian is not the sole thing that will help you get into better shape. Better eating habits can certainly contribute, but the other thing you need to do is exercise. The risk of cutting meat out of your life is that, as you said, you like it. What about if you cut down your meat portions? Technically, on your plate there is only supposed to be 25% meat. So load your plate up with tasty vegetables, prepared in a way that makes you like them, and savour that small portion of meat you have. It's worth it! The other problem with becoming vegetarian is that it's harder than people think. You still have to get all the nutrients that your body usually gets from meat, like iron and B12. B12 is a particularly tricky one, as it has a lot to do with your red blood cells (which transfer oxygen in your body) and also with your nervous system. Even if you are being really careful to get B12 into your body via other ways, sometimes it's not absorbed the same way in your small intestine as it is through eating meat. Being low in B12 and iron can have really drastic consequences. As far as exercise, this is really important with losing weight and living a more healthy lifestyle. But one of the big problems is: people start too big. They go all out and they end up hurting themselves. So start small, and add a little each day. On Day 1, go for a walk. In fact, do that for Week 1: a walk every day. On Week 2, add 1 minute of running, broken into 20 second chunks, into your walk. And so on and so forth. It's worth it to go slow if it's going to become a habit, because you will stick with it, not get down on yourself, and you'll start feeling the benefits right away. Best of luck to you!

hi there! I myself dont eat pork not because i am a muslim or what. i just dont like it! anyway being a vegetarian is not an easy thing to start and it is not the only way to loss weight. based on what ive read, being a vegetarian is giving respect to animals treating them like people who has breathe. respect and treating them as one of our own--one vegetarian said. if you really like to gain weight--stay away with calories. red meat is a source of protein means you cannot cut it on your daily meal. have a balance and healthy diet! cut the carbs and do simple excercise such as walking 30 minute a day :)

Hi,glad to get your kind advices, I will take all of them, haha... Speaking of repecting the animals, it is true, I always think our people are so brutal, but in the other side, it is the nature law which has been existing along with the world.. It is a contradiction... I do not how to comment... Anyway, thanks a lot, best of luck for you...
