Hello everyone, I have recently learned that Apple filed a suit against Samsung last week alleging that the latter copied its smartphones and tablet computers. News information are posted in Yahoo Philippines http://ph.news.yahoo.com/samsung-crossed-line-apple-executive-234007971.html?rated_comment=222357#mwpphu-comment-222357 I am just wondering, since Apple started this whole ipad and itouch technology, they are in a way have the legal rights to protect their inventions and own the said intellectual properties. But, with the advancement of technology it is hard to assume that Apple is the only one who were thinking of developing this kind of gadgets. I have tried using Samsung Galaxy Tab and it is really amazing and it was being sold at a very reasonable price. Compare to iPad, Galaxy Tab has more unique features, just my opinion...LOL! But, Apple started it all and they are the first ones to introduce smartphones and tablets in the market. What is your opinion with it my fellow lotters? Do you think that Samsung copied Apple? Happy Lotting!

Well in my opinion, with the crazy patenting there would usually be a infrigment of some sort always. But if the court will be in favor of apple then samsung will usually just pay or give some sort of percentage for it.

Well if i am correct, palm sued apple because their patent say a touch screen only device or some sort. Don't know what happened to that.

I am really confused on how will the court decide on that. Both parties seemed to have similar brands and in a way it'll be hard to prove that Apple is the first one who invented and developed such gadget since, everyone is creating high-technology computer inventions.

i say they probably did copy them. thats probably the only way to compete with apple as of now as there ahead of everyone by leaps and bounds. i've never used a tablet pc before but am interested in getting one. it certainly wouldn't be and ipad though as they cost too much. i would probably be happy just to have any tablet pc to begin with.

Hi Elmiko, Tablet pc are a bit pricey especially that of Apple. In a way, I am thinking that Samsung might have copied some of iPad's specs and features but as you've said that is how technology evolve now a days. Otherwise, Nokia and other mobile brands will sue each other, because most of them has similar mobile features/style. If one company come up with a touch screen phones next thing you'll know its nemesis will have a new and more sophisticated touch screen phones similar to the first.

I guess they do have the right to file a lawsuit since after iPad all these tablet computers came out. They obviously copied Apple, but they had it coming.. Technology is advancing and small/compact computers are becoming popular, as well as touchscreens.. so of course tablet computers would have came eventually.

The probability Samsung is copying from Ipad is there. Most important the comsumer benefits the most!

Yeah... It is the consumer who benefit the most. They should all make good products at a very good price.
