With out Upgrading my subscription? unfortunately, i still feel slow in this connection. We only have three kinds of internet speed here; 2mgb, 1.5mgb and 384kb. we used to have the 2mgb speed but because it was 50 to 100 dollars a month, we couldn't afford it. my mom has been paranoid into upgrading the subscription again because of this. Though some say that having a high memory chip can enhance of the computers performance because i only have pentium 4 still. Is there any kind of chip/peripherals that helps enhance my turtle Internet speed of 384kb? I would appreciate a response that can help..seriously, even with 1.5.mgb it's still expense.. Have a nice day

Adding/replacing computer parts will never increase the internet speed. That will only help you to get your computer work done faster.Get Download Accelerator Plus(DAP);it will speed up downloads but see I think its not a good way.Better way to change your connection.

Hello Zero stats, No,unfortunately, I can't do such thing because I had this connection for a long time. Change will add more fees and probably delay in the installation of the connection. Is that program for windows? Because am actually using Linux in my Operating system so I couldn't afford to do your suggestion. Have a nice day.

How often do you delete your cookies? If you clean out your cache regularly like every week or so, that will stop it getting bogged down with trying to remember too many things. Adding more RAM can also help. I got some more RAM for free here where I am through the local Freecycle group and they are simple to put into the computer. You just have to make sure that you get the right type.

Hello Raw Bill, Almost every single day. Probably it's actually a bit slow at busy times. You're response interest me, maybe I should consider having these RAMS on my PC as well even though it's just a pentium 4 motherboard thing. As for the right type, it's gonna take time I believe. Thanks for the response here. Have a nice day.

You must be kidding me, sweetie. What the hell do you call that then? The smallest and slowest we have here are 4 meg lines. You cannot do anything to your pc as it has got nothing to do with your internet. You need a better internet provider.

Hello Saphie, Well, the internet provider can be a bad crap most of the time. I'd probably have my computer upgraded again, or just buy a new one. It's not something that I want but I got no other choice I believe. Probably some day when we have the funding to do so. Besides, the connection is satisfying abit now. Have a nice day.

hi, i think there is an another way to increase your speed without upgrading your subscription, some technician can manipulate the speed through the modem and router but i dont know how because they didn't tell that to me.

Hello ASliah, I don't know about that, it can actually happened in the control center but it's just my opinion. usually technicians only takes care of the set up there and as long as the phone lines are working. he doesn't have any thing to worry about.

Internet speed actually varies on your internet provider. If they have a good internet system where you get your internet signal, you will experience the speed that you wish for. Computer hardware doesn't much contribute to this because even if you have a low end computer and you have the best internet provider you will still have a high speed.

Hello Evoldahc, Yeah, that's probably what am after right now. Well, that's exactly what i've been telling for the past few days, what more if there's already two computers in the house using the same old speed, i'd bet it's gonna get slower. Probably a 1.5 mgb Is not bad though I used to enjoy the 2.5 mb but the bill is just killing us here. Have a nice day.

I have also heard that making the memory larger would give you more speed. I did that and it did not help my computer speed at all. I now have DSL and it is quite faster than it was before with dialup.

Hello Steph, I really want a larger memory so that it would be more easy to execute programs a lot more easier than it should. Most specially when it comes to internet browsing. I am also using DSL now because the freaking dial up is too damn slow. I experience dial connection and it takes more than a minute to freaking load it. Have a nice day.

hi letran I have cable internet from Time Warner cable company and its 40 dollars a month for jack rabbit speed so even on my 2000 windows I have fairly good speed. The cable was already here in our room so time Warner did not have to charge an arm and leg for installing it.I don't know the exact speed]for mine but I am pleased with it,very much so.

Hello Hatley, We don't have that here, I wonder what is the speed of that internet. Windows 2000 was like a decade already? That's good to know you have good speed. Makes me wonder why you are so freaking fast and able to respond to a lot of discussions. Anyways, it's nice to know you have a good connection, hope you can cope up if you slow down. Have a nice day.

I don't think you can increase it any way.. I mean I have used mine internet on different system . I mean with pentium 4 and with latest one too. But its really not make much more difference on speed. Only new and better Internet service provider can change the things.

Hello Akp100, Ok, I guess I understand that. Some day I might decide to buy a new CPU instead of going for the upgrades. Somehow it's not surprising anymore if I get viruses on those connections. As for the new, we have remain stuck with this internet provider as it is also our phone line provider for a very long time. More like ten plus decades already. Have a nice day.

If you are in Metro Manila I suggest to change your connection with globe or smartbro they are all turtle internet speed. Now available in the are is the newest and latest WIMAX under WI-TRIBE (by San Miguel Corp) for only $25 per month.. I seen their brochure and look like promising... that is only my suggestion because same speed we have in our house... see you around

Hello Visavis, Unfortunately, I live in Cavite and Globe is a lot more better connection in here. It's just that sometimes it's annoying when the speed started aching slow. You're advice seems good but I don't have to do it. Not only I will changing my subscription my Globe is actually a Bundle line, so if the internet is gone so as my Phone line. What is the speed of your internet? Thanks. I'l research, have a nice day.

Hello Soapies, don't worry some times I just can't helped but whine about it. But I guess it's better than having a load speed that doesn't help you load a lot of things. As for the solution, it will be impossible not to add more expenses on it. But am thankful I still an internet connections. Thanks and take care too.

Greetings. The physical internet speed is set and cant be changed. That doesnt however mean that you cant influence the speed at which pages load. I have three things you can do. You can download a program called Kemulator and use it to run Operamini. This is a java emulator so you need java installed aswell. This makes you use 10 times less data at times. This is however not recomended as it lacks a lot of functions. Second. You can make sure that any automatic updates are turned off as parrallel conections makes the speed slower. last you can always turn off some of the browser functions. Example turn of sounds, animations or images in web pages. That does take away a few functions but it also makes pages load faster. Hope it helps...

Hello NeoCaelum, thank you so much for the response. Seems majority knows this and there's nothing I can do about it. In this browser Opera which I am using for mylot, the animation are indeed disabled. What you have said, I have done some of them and am thank ful for the other progreams that you recommended. I will try them, but I hope this is linux because am using linux as well. Have a nice day.
