Is there a way that I can disable the time restrictions on this laptop?

There seems to be a time restriction that is set on this laptop. I asked my husband about this and he has told me that he did not set the time on it at all. He is the administrator of this laptop and he is the only one that can change and alter anything that is on this laptop. I can't do anything at all. So I am asking you all, is there a way that I can disable the restricted time settings on this computer? I have an standard account on this laptop. I have went under the Control Panel and I can't seem to configure this feature at all. I clicked and move my mouse so that I can change the times that are set, but the mouse will not move at all. How can I have a time restriction on this laptop when I am not a child at all? I should be able to use this laptop as long as I need to. A couple of weeks ago, I accidentally spilled cold water on the keyboard of this laptop. And now yesterday, I was logged out of this laptop. My husband seems to think that this may have something to do with why I can't gain complete access to this laptop like I would desire to. I don't believe what he is saying. Help! What can I do to be able to have an unlimited usage of this laptop without any delays? I have an Acer Aspire 5515. We have Windows Vista Basic as the Operating System.

Maybe you can just entering windows in safe mode and use administrator account to change the setting through control panel.

It is unclear to what you refer when you say 'time restriction.' Everyone is telling you it is impossible to change without admin rights but this may not necessarily true. If you husband has his own account and not just the default admin account you maybe able to trick the machine when starting up to give you the option to login to the default admin account which is often not password protected. There are a number of more devious methods to gain access that I won't go into here all the best urban

You have to persuade your husband to give you administrative rights. Spilling water on the keyboard certainly has nothing to do with it! Only someone with administrative rights can change the rights of other users so it's a matter between you and your husband! Can't help there, I'm afraid!

I never knew we could set or change those ourselves. I know that some internet providers set a limit and there is no way we can change it ourselves. I wander if that is the case?

I think the best and simple way is to tell your husband to stop those restrictions. Don't make life complicated and miserable. Why he sets the restrictions anyway? He's your husband and your are both adult now not kids anymore. hehehe If you just the two of you who only using that Acer Laptop better not restrict anything for both of you. To make it simple and not complicated. Another way is to have your own laptop.

Tell your husband you want the administrator password for your laptop. Like you said, you are not a child. Failing that, get him to log on as administrator and show him where the restricted time settings are set. Since he says he has not set the restrictions, he should have no issue with unsetting them. Getting the keyboard wet cannot possibly have anything to do with this.

Only a person with administrator rights can change this function. You will have to get your husband to look into it in the control panel.
