Dear friends you must have noticed that many a members are in habit of changing their Avatars now and then! Well it is understood that a boring Avatar cab be hanged to an interesting one once a while or A fixed Avatar can be replaced with an animated avatar! But cute looking or attractive Avatars are being changed now and then by the members! I think Avatars of the members are like Trade marks of a Company! Many a times the Companies are identified just by the trade marks and similarly the members are recognized with their Avatars! Frequent changing of Avatar some times puts me in confusion! So far I have changed my avatar only once that too to make it an animated one! Do you often change your Avatar and when have you changed your Avatar last and why? Please respond! Your responses will be highly appreciated! Thanks !

Hi AKRao I have changed mine 3 times during my 12 months here but I have catered mine to the same type as to keep the avatar such as a logo where it is easily identifiable as being an upgrade and not a complete change, though it is not an often change. I create my own and my "Wendy" has only gone upgrades, lol I have seen many who do change them, perhaps out of preference and just to try something new. I have seen some really cute ones with the changes.

Hello Dear Hardworkinggurl! I really don't recollect having seen your other two Avatars before , but this Avatar has become a sure shot 'Tardemark' for you! This cute little gurl is absolutely a nice fit for your user name too! Yes many a times people like to experiment with some new ideas and in that attempts we some times get to see some really good Avatars on this site! Thanks for responding!

I changed my avatar from time to time but not in this site. I changed it always cause there's a section where I could post a brief of writing, so I like to change my Avatar and have some writing that correlates to it. In here, my goal is different to the other site, so I guess I am content (should I say don't care?) with the Avatar I use now. It looks fresh anyway...

Hello Dear Jennyze! Yes, I agree to correlate your writings / articles with your Avatar it is OK to change your Avatars from time to time on those sites which demand it! But for this site I think this Avatar is fine and it has become almost synonym to Jennyze! Since you are contended (or rather not in a mood to care...LOL!)there is no point in changing this nice looking Avatar of yours as it definitely looks fresh! Thanks for responding!

Hi AKRao, I have not changed my avatar so far but I too noticed the change of avatar with many members. Sometimes it make some confusions and I have to check the profile of that particular person to make sure that he/she is the same and there is only a change of their avatar (lol). I felt the avatar is our identity so I don’t want to change the same and make confusions in my friend’s mind.

Vidhya, I am much busy with my work and the power cuts are making me furious. For long hours there is no electricity and temperature in Delhi is 46 degree at present. When power is back, naturally I have to do my works in office. Here after I won't be here for one month as I am going to my native. See you after that.

Sidhu, Here you can't make me confuse (On avatar) because I am so familiar with your user name too. The confusion comes when the person is not that much familiar to me or similar, I mean slightly different, user name exists. I liked the other avatar picture of you as it was funny. I didn’t felt anything bad on your change of avatar but I was concerned on the reason behind the change.

Di then why did you not tell me about my older avatar? I was confused to find the new (or temporary meeeee) @VP: PM your Email. I will send you the complete advert that I used to create that Animated GIF. Unfortunately the animated Gif was quite large in size and so could not get uploaded here... So the only screenshot I got I uploaded that one... But now, it is gone and hopefully I will never change my Avatar. Enough of confusions and PMs and Emails for and against that

Hi AKRao I had 2 changes in my avatar with a few weeks time. Once when I was away for a few days and then after my return when I was (and am still) unwell. The 2nd one was not met with a welcome and so I had to re-do the older one... To be honest, even I too had difficulty in finding me here in that new avatar. So now I have reverted back to the original avatar that I had.

Hello Dear thesids! I am really happy that you have come out of your gloomy mood! I have been observing as a silent spectator and have gone through the whole of the discussion! I thought it wouldn't be a proper thing to enter such a delicate discussion without having a faint idea about the things hap pend or happening around you! At the same time I was so happy to see that you have got so many well wishers and caring friends here that I thought to keep myself away from the discussion for a while and try to understand what was going around! Hope you wouldn't mind for this! Well at last now I am happy that you seems to be rejuvenated your self and now ready to bounce back into the forum to make your presence felt by others with full zeal and enthusiasm! By the way how are you keeping now? Hope things will be alright with the passage of time! Please take care of your self and don't exert your self a lot! Now regarding your changing Avatars, I have seen your both the Avatars and thesids was missing in that 'Vodafone Creature's' Avatar! This Avatar of yours is great and it is synonymous to 'thesids'! Please don't change this Avatar, as this Avatar of yours speaks a lot about you if observed by any one carefully! Thanks for responding! Get well soon and All the best!

I think I have used two avatars to date. Am not sure if I remember well. Well, the first was Patch, my favorite dog, and this now is Kakashi, my favorite Sensei. I guess I would change it again if I feel bored about it.

Hello Dear glorycam! I recall having seen your old Avatar too! This Avatar of yours is looking beautiful but I couldn't get what exactly it is ! It looks some modern art painting to me! Since you said it is 'Kakashi' I will have to search on net hat exactly this means and having gathered the information I will come back to you once again! So you are also from the school of thoughts who feel to change the Avatars when they get bored! LOL! Thanks for responding!

Hello Dear gloryacam! I am sorry for being late, in fact I have seen about "Kakashi" on the very day and believe me I have done lot of research work on it and found myself got trapped in the "Kakashi Fan Club" at the end! LOL! !!! Thanks for the detailed information about Kakashi, this will be an useful information for people like me who really have no idea about these characters as they are famous at few parts of the World or rather we people are not updated! I wish I could see the picture of your star fish which you have taken while you were on your vacation! I think you can always upload your pictures inyour profile where from interested people like me, can have a glace at them and leave a comment! Why don't you upload your Star fish there? Thanks !

Kakashi is a character in the Anime series Naruto. He is a cool and smart teacher (hence, sensei) and taught Naruto and his team. I really like him because even if he is a really brilliant shinobi (ninja) in terms of intelligence and skill, he just plays it cool. As you can see, I am a fan of that anime. I had wanted to change my avatar with a picture of some starfish that I took during my vacation last weekend, but, I guess the file is too big. I can't upload it here.

Well, i change my avatar every now and then. It depends on my mood also and the availability of a new picture that could be posted as my Avatar. But as for me, i take notice of the username first than the avatar, because i know that avatar are more likely to be changed always , than username. So, i know that a username have changed his/her avatar because i have already in mind the username and his/her usual avatar.

Hello Dear SimplyD! I have seen you changing your Avatar now and then, but the reason behind is come to my knowledge just today only! So it is your mood and availability of the good picture that may influence your Avatar! You are right dear SimplyD! You have a valid point there as Avatars can be changed as many times as possible on this site but then the user names can't be changed, so it is always better to know a person by user name instead of Avatar! Good idea ! Remembering the Avatar with the use name is the best policy if any one can follow it on this forum! Thanks for responding !

Hello Dear Whiteheather! Though people often change their Avatars frequently for several reasons, I personally feel to stick to one Avatar having decided once, as I already discussed, I think Avatar acts in similar way to us the way Trade mark acts for a Company! There are many companies which I can recollect or identify just looking at their Logos or Trademarks! I am happy that you have not changed your Avatar on this forum and your are sticking to it since the time you made it! Your Avatar is cute, very alert and attentive one! I liked it! Yes if some one changes hi/her Avatar then to confirm about the identity we need to check their profile, which I too have to do some times when I find a new Avatar to some known user name! Thanks for responding!

Hello Dear swirlz! Yes many a times because of change in Avatar all of a sudden against our expectations, makes one confused in identifying an individual as me too seldom remember the names! I use Avatars for the purpose of identification as they are easily be stored in our brain because of he visual impact! Just like you I also have a vague idea about the identification of / recognising the member on this forum! Your Avatar is very nice one with fantastic color combination and it gives an positive and calming effect! Please don't change it , as it is really a nice one and it is having it's own uniqueness! Thanks for responding!

Hello Dear Chrissieatu! Thanks for agreeing with my Trademark theory! I am happy to know that you have stuck to your Avatar till the day without changing it! But one thing I am not getting in your Avatar that you are hiding your face...like many other members I am also curious to know, why it is so? Well I don't think you could be lazy as you already have plans to change your Avatar when you feel tired of it or when you are in bad mood! Well hope in your next Avatar we would be able to see your face! Thanks for responding!

Hi AKRao24. Ah, the little girl in the avatar is not me actually. I encounter this good image at the time when i registered and then i used it till now As to the "hiding" question, i think it's because of culture. My colleague also asked me why I didn't put my image on Skype avatar. It's just eastern people (& kinda traditional one like me) are not quite used to show myself on the internet. Happy posting

Hi. AKRao24. I have been a member on myLot for four years now. And, I have changed my avatar about twelve times, I think to be exact. I have gotten used to my avatar now. I love it, it resembles my heart. I guess many people that change their avatars frequently, just want a new look. They want a change and they like to try out different avatars on myLot. I do get mixed up when they change it frequently, but I automatically know who they are by their user name.

Hello Dear Cream! I think changing 12 times within a span of 4 years seems to be quite alright as it works out to be three changes per annum! When dis you change your last Avatar? This Avatar of yours is really a nice one! I am really glad to know that you have got so delicate, beautiful and soft heart! Yes, I agree that many people change their Avatars because they want to have some new look and in order to have that they are changing their avatars frequently! Hello Dear Siliguri! Yes, I too think to get rid of boredom associated with the same Avatar people are likely to change their Avatars ! With newbies it is alright to change their Avatars as they need to experiment a bit before settling with the Avatar which suits them most! Once they are satisfied then they tend to continue with it for a long time, like you! You have a nice, cute and funny Avatar which definitely is an attractive one and i already have started associate your Avatar with your user name! So I can simply identify you just by your Avatar! Maybe because of indecision? Or perhaps the personal liking of the moment? Really a mystery for me too. For me, I don't like to change avatar. To begin with, I don't even have one (and really need help to make one). I just have an idea to make one, but never managed to do it. Besides, I don't like to change. Just choose one and live with it.

Hello Dear RamRes! I think you are right! People having selected one Avatar may not like it and want to have another instead! This feat they must be doing it time and again till the time they are not getting satisfaction of having a good Avatar! The indecisiveness may be the main reason behind it! But besides that having gone through some responses I realised that people want some change in their lives and they feel that sticking to a avatar is stagnating! Yes, so far you have not selected any Avatar for you though you have crossed 900 postings! Now I think it is high time you should have some nice Avatar for your user name and later on you can stick to it or live with it so that members will recognise you with your Avatar alone! Hello Dear Aprilsong! This present Avatar of yours after changing once is a cute one! Yes, depending upon the mood and our mental frame we can definitely make changes in our Avatars! That is the reason this option has been given to us on this forum! Thanks for liking my Avatar! This in fact I have stolen from my son's folder, having used it as Avatar I have informed about it, so that he can't say anything to me later on! LOL! As a father I think I can take this much of liberty an privilege! In fact this horse of mine was not walking initially on these pages! It used to walk on the profile page. Having decided to make it walk on these pages, I have started a discussion appealed the fello memebers to help me in making my horse walk and lo, within few hours my horse started walking with the help of some senior and active members of this forum, who are instrumental in making my horse walk and they still remember about it! I do not have an avatar. I have my picture. I feel that it is more personable by having my picture. I don't mind those that do but I personally feel that I am hiding behind the computer when I have an avatar. We already have nicknames so why hide who we are from our pictures as well?

I think that there are a lot of people who have not really found their identity completely and online, their avatar is a huge part of their identity. They are not sure how exactly how they want to present their internet face, therefore they are going to switch it off time and time again. It can really get confusing, as most people tend to identify others by their avatar online, more so then there name a lot of the time. Of course, I changed my avatar once, after a year. I just felt that it was time for a change. Many people are obviously feeling like it is time for a change, therefore they keep switching off with their avatars. Perhaps it is a bit confusing and perhaps they are going to switch off a bit too often for many of our likings. Other people, they really are going to keep the same avatar for years and years, over many websites. It just depends on what we feel our online identity should be.

Hello Dear megamatt! I understand your point that most of the people are yet to finalise their Avatar that is fitting/suitable to their using name and their own identity! So they are keep on changing the Avatars ,till they are satisfied with one, which can be confusing to other members on the forum in identifying them with their Avatars! The present Avatar of yours is a quite a cute one, which you have changed it after one year! Yes, different people have different likings and tastes some people want to change the Avatars frequently and some want to maintain the same profile in many a site where they are participating! It is individual taste! Thanks for rsponding!

Hi Dear Lady1993! Yes, normally we change our Avatars two or three times before settling for the one we feel best of the lot! Having chosen once I think it is a good idea to stick to it as many of friends they do recognize us with our Avatars rather than by the names! Since this forum is an International in nature we have different kinds of names which are some times become very difficult to pronounce! Example many Indian names can't be pronounced well by the people from western part of the World! So to get rid of this difficulty I think having a permanent Avatar is the best solution!
