Have you always known what you wanted to do in your life? If so, are you doing it? I don't believe Everyone has A calling. And sadly if they do , somehow trhey don't follow it. Me? I never had a calling. I Never thought What Was I be when I grew up. I just was myself.Granted I did get to do many things I wanted to do . But Having a calling? No! Your thoughts.

No, not everyone has a calling as you say. That sort of sounds a little biblical to me. Anyway, if everyone had a calling or a purpose, it would be a perfect world. I do believe that every is good a something, from the smallest to the biggest thing. But if we are not passionate about it then it will not be good for us. The calling you are talking about is the people that get lucky doing what they have always dreamed of, whether it is being an actor or a rock star. Not everyone can just become their dream.

Biblical? Really? I never thought of it that way. And no, what I'm talking about Has nothing to do with luck. It has Everything to do with your passion. Are you saying Only a Star gets to call himself an actor? Or that it can only be a calling if it means being famous? Wrong. Many want to be teachers or nurses. A calling is a calling . Yes some callings may take some luck but most just take the desire and hard work.

Hi Behen I wanted to do something totally different than what I am doing ever since I was a kid - An Astronaut or maybe a Research Scientist in Astronmy. But those days, here in India, we did not have much and even though I cleared up the entrance examinaltions after my High School, I could not join as we did not have that huge amounts of funds. Having lost that chance, it did weaken my interests in studies and I know I did waste much of my College years studying things that I never was interested. Spent more time, following my heart - doing some charity organizaing worshops etc. and learning the lessons in life as they came. Many a times, it seems to be easier if you are without the "Calling" rather than Having a Calling and unable to pursue it. Then in 1994 when I started out as a Computer Trainer, gradually I started loving this and like you say - "I did get to do many things" though I hadnt expected them to happen... but somewhere the desire to be with Astronomy still kindles in my heart... maybe for the Next Life

I guess that is worse to have a dream and not be able to do it. Me? All I wanted was to play beautiful music with my friends and I got to do it Before I left high school! So I never thought about doing it for a living. What I do now , my job I really like but it isn't my calling.

I'm not really sure. I have this things that keeps driving me towards something..but to what..I have no idea. I always feel like I need to be doing something and going back to school has eased that..but there are times when I feel almost driven. I don't know if that is a "calling" of sorts or not. Maybe it is just who I am. If I do have a calling, I wish I was one of those peopl that knew what it was..lol..if not..I wish I knew that too.

I thought my calling was with horses and I tried it for while and it was not for me! At least I wanted to do it as a career! I found out there are alot of nasty people in the horse business! I also got taken adavantage of! i worked my butt for crap! I wanted to keep my horse Major and I did! I just was thinking more about him then myself! Anyway I was still involved in horses until I lost my job at the stables I was feeding at last month! I might have it back in June! After all the crap I went through I found out food service is my true calling! From doing dishes to cooking to supervising student workers in the dishroom! This is my calling!

I never had! Sometimes, I have a feeling that I just go stumbling onto things in life. Granted that it has mostly got me to good things, but I never had a direction that I could look into. Maybe it's because I am an impatient person. That's why I could never really categorize anything as my calling.

Hi sarah: I can't tell you that I had a calling. When I was a little kid, I never think about the possibility of being a lawyer but when I look back to my childhood I can tell you that there are some things that I do and some of my skills that were there showing me that I have the talent to chose this profession. hi, "calling" i do not think all have this .Some know their responsibilities so they do not need a calling all the time and telling them what they have to do each and eveyr time in the life. After sometime even a child will be responsible to do his or her homework which the teacher gives, A household wife knws what she should do for her family daily and A husband knw how to bring up his family. Unless some times we really forget our selves on work we do forget eating sometimes so we get a call from our loved ones as a remembrance to do the work later by finishing most important things of our life. What do u say ?

It is great if a person is aware of the aims to fulfill, goals to achieve, but sometimes wishes do not come true. Maybe someone would like to be successful doing something he or she is really interested in but that occupation can just be a hobby, impossible to earn money from. Perhaps there are different obstacles that prevent one from achieving the aims one is longing for.
