The wrong type of chips placed in another potato chips bag.

Yesterday, I opened up a bag of potato chips and the flavor of the potato chips tasted nothing like the type of potato chips that it was named. I started to eat some chips from the bag, but these potato chips did not taste anything like Dill Pickle potato chips at all. It tasted like it was regular potato chips. Or maybe like Lay's regular potato chips. These potato chips tasted good though. The first thought was that somehow these chips were mistakenly placed into the wrong bag while it was being manufactured at the potato chip factory. I am going to call this potato chip company and inform them of what I have tasted. The potato chips are very fresh until July 22nd 2011. The name of these potato chips is called, Golden Flake, "The South's Original Potato Chip", Dill Pickle Flavored Thin & Crispy. This bag costs, $0.99. I have always eaten these chips, and they always taste like Dill Pickle and vinegar potato chips, so I know that there has to be a defect in this potato chip bag.

That must have been a surprise for you. I have never experienced having the wrong chips in the bag. I would have called or wrote to the company too. You might not be the only one who got the wrong flavor chips in their bag.

Hi. Shar19. Yes, I think that I am not the only one, that has eaten from the potato chip bag that hasn't tasted the actual potato chips either.

Hmmm...I never had that happen to me before, but I have had someone show me a can of pop that is totally air in it, funny actually, it was quite light as well. I wonder if it was full of that carbon gas they put into pop after it was mixed or something, it would be interesting to find out. I probably would've contacted the company myself - to see if I can get some freebies, hehe.

stephcjh Check date on the package as it might have been sold after the expiration date and so would taste odd and maybe stale. you might be able to get a fresh replacement bag. take it back to the store and complain.stores are supposed to check shelves of products for expired 'dated and weed them out. sometimes they miss one or two.

Unfortnately these things can happen. Macchinery is osten run by the human mind. Machines can only do what they are programmed to do. Errors do happens becaause technology and the human factor are not infallible.

Hi cream, Though not common I wonder if this happens a lot. See I can imagine an off day at the factory where someone is not paying attention. Although I think they have inspectors prior to sealing the initial batch. So it seems that no only were the workers not paying attention, neither were the inspector. Glad they still tasted good, lol because if not I would have suggested looking at the bag for an email address and emailing the company so they are aware. Often times they will send you free coupons for free chips as they would like to know what serial numbers from the bag as I am sure yours was not the only one defected. How sad though when one wants a specific type and ends with another.

Interesting. What ever became of this? It definately sounds like somehow regular chips were put in the wrong bag. This is the first time I have heard of something like this happening, but glad it was maybe not ones you would not like, and end up not being able to eat.

Sounds like someone at the factory forgot to change the packaging to go with the flavor they were processing at the time. I'd be curious as to what they do for you? Perhaps send you a few coupons or free bags of chips for telling them of their error in production.

Maybe you won a prize for getting this bag of chips. Did you contact the company? I would. Get a free bag or a million dollars. lmao. Mistakes do happen. They must have been in a hurry. I would wonder what the story is and why it was mis produced like that. Keep us posted.
