Pollution is a nuisance created solely if not only by man. Am I wrong in my observation?

Pollution is defined as the by product of mankind, but nature is equally adept at creating environmental disasters. Without mankind, thousands more acres of trees would be lost to fire in any given year, creating atmospheric problems. Add that to volcanic output and natural gas leakage, uncapped oil gushers and methane from animals and you've got a nasty mixture even without us. There is no question in my mind that we make it worse and should clean up our messes but don't think the world would be a perfectly healthy place without us.

I guess it depends on your description of pollution, the dictionary says to make unclean or impure. If you accept that then I would say Mother Nature is the greatest pollutant of all, a few volcanoes, a flood or two not to mention an earthquake and you have king size pollution. You can say this is natural but it's still pollution.

Whatever the meaning may be there in the dictionary, I want mean in the way we are now used to mean the term 'pollution' and I personally believe that man is only responsible for the growing pollution which if not checked now will ultimately destroy all life on this planet.

Pollution due to human intervention. Humans main cause of pollution. Air pollution, due to vehicles driven by humans. Water pollution occurs, is also not far from human activity.

Hi! For me, all pollution started by human, human created new technology and never bother to treat the waste and just let it go down to the river streams, sea or the air. The main culprit are those advanced countries which have first created the biggest world pollution and when they realized about it, they start to stop other to further pollute the world. But they still continuing polluting the world.

Yes, you are right and since it is caused by man, therefore it is also the sole responsibility of man to clean up his mess. Unless man admit his mistakes, there's no way it can be corrected. But men are hard-headed and would only act if dangers are all present around him and making life impossible and unpleasant.

It is a good sign that gradually more and more people are being aware of the dangers of growing pollution and are making others aware of it. So we may hope that it will be checked in the near future, otherwise life will be at stake.

I think that some would have leaked out if it weren't for men but not much. Your observation is basically correct. It is more than just a nuisance. It causes smog which can make people sick. It causes some of the weather we are sweltering in right now. And the list goes on and on.
