My son is two months old and he is going to get circumcised tomorrow. His father insistence that it should be done. I'm so scared for him to get it done now. His father wantedit done when he was first born but the doctors didn't want to do it then. So he has his appointment tomorrow and i'm terrified that something might go wrong. My boyfrind's mother say that after he gets circumcised for the first week or so every time that he pees we will know because he is going to be crying. Has anyone had their child circumcised at two months or older? How did it go?

Here in my country, circumcision is done when the boy reaches the age of 10-12 or older. But i also heard some parents had their boy kids to be circumcised as early as week old by the time of it's birth. I guess it is fine and okay,or else the doctors won't do some process if it could harm or put the baby on risks.

I'm a testament to this! But I don't remember pretty well what age did I got circumcised. Circumcision is like a baptism of manhood here in the Philippines. I know a lot of other cultures however do their circumcision during the birth of the baby, but I really don't know at what point. Just follow the doctors as jaiho2009 said.

Can't say I've been down this road. I have 1 son and we chose (I chose) not to get him circumcised. The way I see it is that you have to clean a little extra. Ummmm sooo? We girls have to ensure cleanliness too. I think teaching your son proper cleanliness will prevent infections and such. All has been fine for us (him).

Wow! I didn't know it could be done that early. In our country, it's usually from 7-10 or older. It then lasts for a week a two, I mean the pain and all, until you can walk normally.

Hey there choybel! Maybe you are now reminiscing your circumcision rights back then!. I still remember mine "tomatoed". What is the proper word for that? Anyway, after the circumcision process it really felt good to be a man!

I say there is no reason to circumcise. Allowing anything hurtful in the world only makes the world a little more bad. I say screw it. Screw tradition. Dont worry about it. I have never heard anyone complain about not being circumcised ever. Look at the results of it and tell me if they are good or bad. Pain = bad so I say dont do it. By God dont do it.

No i got my son circumcised 1 week or 2 after he was born. It will be OK the doctors know what they are doing. They are just going to tell you to give him Tylenol.

There is no valid medical reason to have it done so what's the purpose of it? It's completely pointless from my point of view. That's a personal or religious decision and I recommend you to think about it twice before doing it.

it's not something I would do to a child. it's not common in the UK, and I think it's better avoided unless a medical need to do so arises later in life. I wouldn't pierce a babies ears either.

My son was circumcised the day he was born. When the pediatrician came in to examine him after he was born, they asked if we wanted him circumcised and did it as soon as the exami ation was done. To be honest, circumcision can be done any time in a males life. I know someone who had it done when he was 30 years old. He'll probably have some pain, but I doubt it will be as much as it would if the boy was much older. Tylenol will help with that. Also, when you change his diaper, rub a tiny amount of Vaseline on the inside of the diaper, right around where it would come in contact with the area. Just a teeny tiny amount. On the diaper, not the baby - this will help keep the area from sticking to the diaper, which can make changing the diaper a challenge. I learned that one the hard way. My sons circumcision wasn't really surgery, per se. They slipped a ring under the foreskin and it cuts off the circulation and the foreskin comes off. Supposedly, this is a much less painful way to perform the circumcision. But the ring is why you can't put Vaseline or anything directly on the area - the ring might slip off. So if you do it, make sure it's just a super teeny amount. Just enough to make a "non stick coating."

No I made sure both of my sons were circumcised right at the hospital so they would not remember and were to unaware of the pain. I have never heard of getting it done so late except for the taboo religion that does it in some other country.

All of my boys has theirs done when they were born. Why is it that your doctor wanted to wait? I am not sure how it will affect him now that he is 2 months old. I think that circumcision is the best way to go. You will be able to keep him cleaner and when he is older he will be able to be cleaner as well.

My son was circumsized at a couple days old before leaving the hospital. It made it nice since the docs and nurses were there to help me if i had any questions. It is a scary process, but he will be fine. He will be uncomfortable for a few days and the best you can do is tylenol. I recomend to every parent making this decesion though is to look up the pros and cons and decide if this is something that is right for you. dont let any one make this choice for you. We circumsized for health reasons and his father is, plus religious preference. when he is older though and decides to have it done its a surgical procedure where they put them under and it takes longer for them to heal. So I would definatly look up the healing time for a 2 month old and what to expect and how to comfort him. Just know he wont remember this and this soon shall pass. Just go in with the most knowledge you can go in with.

My son was circumcised late also because we didn't have the money it cost to get it done right away and he would have been fine if the doctors didn't cut him in the wrong places. He didn't cry every time he peed either. My son was circumcised at 4 months old. Unfortunately, the doctor that did it caused my son a lot of issues and now were left to fix it because no one will help us with it now... He was just a stupid doctor so don't worry.

Circumcisions happen every day, he'll just have to deal with the pain. At that age, he won't even remember anything when he gets older.
