Shoking news about facebook

Everyone know facebook is most popular and good social networking site. But two days before I have seen shocking news about facebook on TV. This incident is occured in Mumbai.
Some boys are misuse facebook and the ways is using chatting in facebook. They are chat with girls and tell her some party is organised for her they provides cell no. and then call her. They were organise the rav party and tell the girls if they wants to join this party then call them. Lots of girls are get together in club for rav party some Nagpur side girls also involved in this party.
One day police attack or rate on the place where this party was organized and capture all the boys and girls and they find out maximum college age girls and boys are there. All boys and girls take a cloth on their face because this is shaming thing. I cant understand why the girls are not understand online is not good way to meet anybody. Now more people are misusing of facebook why they not understand this social networking site is good for chat with family members or friends share your views what you think this is shameless activity or regular activity in big city.

I think it is not wise to organize such events. However up to some level it sounds good but if the Police is catching them up then it is illegal for sure.
I don't understand the whole thing but if they are doing illegal thing then that is shameful.

Friend they all are doing illegal thing and when police arrested them they take a cloth or hanky on own face. They joining the rav party it really shameless thing.

Personally this is one of the reasons why people need to be a little cautious and protect themselves more when becoming a member of Facebook and not be so willing to just share anything they want. And when they are talking the way that some of them talk and freely sharing their address, etc. it makes you wonder so much for sure. I honestly think that people need to not be so open and not be so willing to share everything about themselves in there.

Many people are finding boyfriends in fb but not for me. From my instinct, I know this is not the way to know a partner. What could happen in today's people mind, you can't assume. That is why I only accept friend request from whom I know only. Another thing is I seldom fbing. Its kind of boring there. I think to meet people we should go out and know each other first before any further action.

These types of situations happen all too frequently if you ask me. It is so easy to be whoever you want to be - falsely - on facebook and other social sites. It's a sad thing but a reality that people can be so easily drawn into things just like this.

Ohhhh friend really it is very easy but really sad thing. Facebook is a good social networking site but some boys and girls are using wrong way. Why they are interested in rav party and charge was also for that party is rs. 1000/-

Yes I have also seen such similar news on news channels and me and my husband discussed on this topic also. But I think this is the mistake of that girls. How can they increase contact with strange boys and why they do such things because i am also using facebook but I never did such things even my daughters are also using facebook but they take its advantage not disadvantage.It depends on us whether we have to take its advantage or disadvantage.

Recently, Facebook had been linked with quite a lots cases of children being cheated or used to do unwanted things. That's why, it is wise to guide what our children is doing and chatting with whom, while they are in Facebook. We don't want our children to fall trap into the hands of unwanted people. I also think Facebook, is not a wise place to find our soul mate. Because most people coming to Facebook is for fun. Only those who are lucky enough might have came across some real friends through Facebook. Sometimes, it is depends on one's luck.

Well, I do think that this party way of meeting people is not a good idea at all. However, I don't think that it is inappropriate to meet people from the internet. I met my husband through the internet about nine and a half years ago and I've also made some of the best friends that I've ever had in my life through the computer. So, I definitely don't think it is wrong to meet people through the internet, you just have to be careful when you do it.

Madam: People get cheated - they spend more time than what is required on internet -- for want of money, greediness, desire for making good/bad friendship--all this is due to lack of purposeful work/study/employment/vocation. If only people have a purpose of earning money properly or helping others, this type of problems may not arise. have a good day.

Some people wants to find a gf/bf in facebook like my cousin she found a bf in fb eversince she havent a bf but when she try to sign up in fb and to have a lot of friends there at the age of 35 she found a bf one good guy wants to meet her and he propose for a marriage to my cousin she's very lucky they are now married and have a cute baby boy and now they live in other country and they work there.

There're a lot of worse facebook abuse happen in my country.It's like organized professionally by some people doing adopt boy/girl, most of them are still have a school or collage.Similary with your story, it started with chat on fb with stranger and then share idea,etc then feel so close and meet each other, then adoption is happen.One of open chase proved that facebook is one of easy way to do trafficking.So sad!!

With the generation today, social networking really has a great impact to ones' life. Some relationships have been ruined because of this. I think Parental Guidance is what younger people needs. It's best to let your children know that it is not a good idea to meet someone without even knowing them. Let us just pray for our world today.

We cannot deny the fact that these kinds of things really do happen in real life. i guess some really take advantage of these social networking sites. sometimes it all boils down to how you protect yourself online. i mean, if you dont know the party, or the person/people organizing the party then why the heck should you go right? its better to turn it down early than to suffer the consequences later.

Hi. surekharathi. I guess this is the reason why I don't share any information with strangers at all. Facebook is not meant to be a meeting site, especially to those that have never seen others before in their entire lives. Facebook should be useful only for enjoying oneself. Wow! This is scary, it really is. If I don't know someone completely, I will not meet them at all.

I guess this happens too, in any part of the world with internet.Some used this socializing site with ill intention in mind toward others.This is supposed to served as a connection to friends and relatives who are far from home or whom you seldom see or to meet new friends.But lately we can hear news that someone used FB to meet his(because many who do this are boys)new found friend and the girl acting in good faith later realize that she had fallen to a trap (robbed or sometimes abused).

I don't use chatting or social site to communicate to strangers. Usually I just use it when I need to contact my sister and other family members. About the case you mentioned above, it is just one of the misuse thing that happen in our lives. We can't blame the social networking site itself because it is the users fault if they don't use it in properly. I have discussed with some friends that nowadays youngsters or adults they don't use their brain to think about the good and the bad. Perhaps I am an old fashion girl who never agree with having night club party mixing between boys and girls get drunk etc as this will lead to serious social issues and I believe there are many more healthy activities should be made rather than this. Again it is the users's fault not the technology itself.

This is quite sad, but it does happen often here too. It is the internet itself that is allowing many to misuse it's wonderful benefits. Many are utilizing it to lure young girls and boys in cruel ways. Though the internet and facebook are wonderful features for chatting with loved ones all over the world many are taking advantage and utilizing it wrong.
I do hope more and more people realize that it is not safe and be extra careful. They should remember that internet meeting are no different then off line meeting. Off line we do not put our personal information at our front door for the world to see, therefore, we cannot put it anywhere on the net for many to take advantage.
