... would you try to stop it from happening? Would you call 911 or with other people go confront the perp? Or would you just watch it happen, or worse yet, turn on the video on your phone and record it and post it to youtube or your social sites? Many people are now being kidnapped and attacked in public places... are we even noticing??

I would instantly call 911 for help. If I thought I too could be in danger I don't think I would confront the perpetrator. I will pay close attention to as much detail as I could so that I could be helpful to the police. I would record for purposes of youtube, but if I thought quick enough under the pressure I probably would record the perpetrator and or the get away car for instance so the police would have more to go on. I have not noticed and or heard on the news anything of this sort in my area, but I am always reading and viewing the news in case something is going on so we can be attentive. But yes there was one situation happening and both my boyfriend and I have witnessed where no one did absolutely anything. It was my boyfriend who stopped the abuser from hurting his partner in the theater.

I don't think it's advisable to intervene during an attack or kidnapping, most especially if you don't have training for it. Since I don't have training for these situations, I think I'd rather call 911 and take photos or videos so that I could show them what happened. However, if it's something that is only one-on-one, like an attack physically, perhaps I could get a pole or something to stop them AFTER calling 911. It's better safe than sorry. Let's not play hero. Have a great MyLot experience ahead!

I would not only call 911. I would also attempt to stop the crime. As a human being we should help when someone is in danger of dying. I am a fairly strong, physically, woman who is unable to walk away from someone when they need it. I do think that those people who do NOTHING and tape something like this should not only have to go to jail I think they should have to compensate the victim in some way for being less than human. I know that if something were to happen to one of my kids and I found out that someone was taping it and did nothing to help I would hunt that person down and hurt them. The person filming is just as guilty of the crime as the person committing the crime. After all the law does not distinguish between the get-away driver and the armed robber.

It depends .. if they have got some weapons,i would rather call 911 or follow them than to fight them!I wouldn't risk my life either especially when i'm quiet sure that i cannot fight them single handedly with barely anything in my hands. If they turn out to be a couple of bad a$$es with no weapons then i'll take them for granted and exhibit my skills!Great day.

It would not be a good idea for any witness to endanger ones life when it comes to incidences like these because these criminals are highly prepared and you could get kidnapped yourself or get killed. The best way is to call the police and get as much information like that number of the plates and the type of vehicle used, etc. If this is what we do, then there is a great chance that the victim can still be found because of the help of the information that you provide.

Obviously someone would immediately call 911 but to record the event would double the telling of the event. With film evidence, officers could most likely capture the I.D. tag of the vehicle or better yet, get the perp's face. Video recordings aren't just for youtube, they could save lives.

I think, the co-preparations that one must do that and never this when you saw kidnapping or looting, would not be working for every body.At the very moment one sees those thing the conscious mind will be overlapped the reflex actions and the actions what one will do will be provided by the reflexes. Anyway,I am in to such a situation, the best thing i can do from very first moment is to memorize the numbers of the bikes and cars of the kidnappers, sharp retinal scanning of the body language actions and behaviour of the kidnapper which will be very helpfull in investigation. On doing these things i will be surely calling the police stations.I think i am up to this any further actions can be taken by me depending upon the situations at the very particular moment and it varies.

If I saw someone kidnapped I would immediately call 911;I wouldn't try any attempt to stop the kidnappers because that would be extremely dangerous, but I would try to keep in mind as many details as possible so I could offer reliable information to the police.I don't think it would even cross my mind to turn on the phone or camera and record the event, that's really cynical from those who do such things just for the sake of filming something sensational.

I would totally try to confront the perp(s). Alone or with assistance, doesn't matter. I'd be calling 112 after the confrontation. Though many people are choosing the 'do nothing' option nowadays...
