We all know we are rated by our fellow Mylotter's but what if you were able to rate yourself? Do you think your star rating should be be higher or lower than what it presently is? and WHY do you feel this way? Please keep in mind the time and effort you put into your discussions what you feel the quality of you posts are and also the replies your discussions receive. Can you judge yourself fairly? So from 1 to 10, what rating would you give yourself and for all the 10's out there, do you agree you are right where you should be? Interested to know.

hi jujunme as I was cheated out of my first blue star by two gremlins who turned out to be two men angry because I made a discussion stating smoking was unhealthy so they stayed up all night minusing every thing I had posted so the next morning my blue ten was a purple 5. I reported this to mylot and to their credit they watched and caught the two men. the men were kicked out of mylot.but my star was only put back to an 8 so over the four years since I and my friends worked , me doing quality posting and my friends plusing me I got up to a 9 and 93 percent. so yes if I could rate myself I woud give me back the ten that I had earned in the first place and the 99 percent I had earned. thats all . very simple.

HI Hatley:if anyone deserves a "10" it's you. IMO and i'm sure in the opinion of many others, you more than deserve it. it's so unfair when anyone is cheated out of their well deserved high rating and you are one of the reasons i feel the neg vote should not be an option.

I had a beautiful blue ten yesterday, but as you can see my star has gone down to a nine. I suspect it may have to do with some opinions I gave about women in India, but I can't prove that. Anyway, I would give myself an eight. I usually type longer responses, and I am able to go over several points. Plus, I am pretty certain that I am able to communicate my thoughts clearly. I prefer to research a bit to on questions that require it - to be as honest and true as possible. There are a few things that hold me back from giving myself a straight ten: I usually make at least one grammar or spelling mistake for reply, I can be a bit sparse when I am commenting on responses to my started discussions and I am prone to ramble and repeat myself. An eight is still high though. I suppose I am biased toward myself. :)

hi Awinds wow thats quite a drop from blue.if its many points I really would contact mylot admins as they do check out our complaints and they might well find someone who was too heavy fingered on the minus key . a lot of new ones I believe do not understand they are not to hit minus just because the other person had a different opinion than theirs. that is allowable and human nature. You are only to minus if something is insulting or flaming

No,you don't have to give the names of anyone you may feel is neg rating you for no good reason, in fact even if you are quite sure who it is,you still take the chance you may be wrong and will be accusing someone unfairly. I do agree with Hatley when she states your rating drop is quite significant, so i would also report this to the admin so they can look into it.

Thanks Hatley for the advice! A question though - should I just tell them about the drop? Or do I need to provide "suspects"?

Hi jujume: I don't want to sound very proud of myself but I think that more than quantity is quality what it counts and I answer all the questions by hearts. I am not thinking about numbers. I give an advice when someone ask for that and I share my ideas. So for me I deserve my rating or at least a 9 star ALVARO

I don't think you're being too proud at all. By stating that quality is what counts and giving advice when needed and also sharing ideas with others , you have every right to believe your rating should be high.

I do my best to remain a loyal myLot member and always try to provide helpful and useful information. I am not perfect, as I can/have made mistakes.. as you know I have gone from 10 to a 9 four times this year. No one is safe as long as our postings are not liked, appreciated, and or misunderstood. Therefore, I hope I deserve my 10. I do my best daily to make sure all healthy contributions get rated daily. Either way, I have continually been a happy member here. Because of the many fluctuations since last year, I simply try to continue my quality posting and allow the rest to flow as I do not want to concentrate if I should get more or not as I would like to continue having the fun, and experiences I have had since my early days. I definitely know how disappointing it is when we get lower rated when it is not deserving.

Don't blush now, but IMO you always deserved the 10 rating you have seeing as you are one of the most helpful and supportive members i've yet to encounter here. Of course i know how upsetting it is to see your rating drop since this has happened to me.but, i also can't let this interfere with my participation here.and as long as i have friends here who have been very supportive and understanding, the drop is not as upsetting to me as it once was.

Hello jujunme, If you could have rate yourself there would have no meaning of ratings here on MYLOT as every one would give themselves + ratings.System in MYLOT to rate others is good enough as you cannot judge your self but others can judge you properly. I should be where i am because i trust people as they have rated me well and i deserve to be at "8" thats why i am here. Had i deserve to be on "10" i would have been on it then.

I know sometimes you are rated negatively just for disagreeing the opinion which most of the people say but nothing much you can do about it you have to accept it.People should understand it & should use the rating system fairly.

I try very hard to post quality and respond with quality. I don't always succeed but I try. So, I would give myself a 9 because no one is perfect including myself. I have been working hard here and having fun with discussions. =)

I've always been the kind of person that doesn't really like to rate myself. With that said, I do think that my star rating is right where it should be. The reason that I feel that way is because of the fact that when I respond to a discussion, I always give it my best. I'm not one of those people that can do anything part way and be happy with what I've done. Therefore, I really do work to give the best response that I can ever give.

Doing our best is really all we can do and when we accomplish what we set out to do i think it's fine to say we deserve a high rating. i think those who say their star rating is too low, but then admit they're not contributing in all the ways they can, (replying to their discussions, posting quality discussions and being respectful in their comments) aren't realizing that all these things are necessary in order to raise their rating to where they would like it to be.
