Hmm. The problem with diet advices nowadays is that, majority of these actually don't work, and here's why: different people have different lifestyles, different metabolism rates, etc. Since diet regimes/recommendations are publicly posted, the author/s may be assuming that these advices are applicable to all, or at least majority of their readers. But what if you're not part of that majority? I think, if you're really serious about this, and you want a proper diet program, consult a dietitian/nutritionist. This would be worth your effort, and money if applicable. I also need to be on a healthy diet myself (I'm getting fatter NOOOOOO...), but the basic thing that I know so far is to lower my carbohydrate intake. Now, I strive to take in half of the carbohydrate that I used to consume, but never without. In Biochemistry studies, it shows that carbohydrates are still needed to burn fats.

Just because you are on diet would already mean a drop in weight. Besides when you diet it will take a long time for it to manifest into your body. She should diet and at the same time do 1 hour vigorous exercise or activity at least 3x a day. But then, drop in weight will not be as fast as she expects it to be. She should just be patient with her diet and do vigorous exercise to get her needed result.

I think diets won't work because it is not the appropriate diet for her. It really depends on how much calorie needed by your body and how much can you do in order to equal the amount needed. You can consult a dietician or search it in the internet. Lots of stuff and articles being promoted in the web. Hope that helps.

Proper diet is important but so is exercise. In order for one to achieve the best results of dieting, you must follow it up with exercise and proper rest. Being healthy is about discipline, discipline in what you eat, what you do and how you handle things.

The reason why a diet wont work is because of your dedication. Dieting is about dedication and if your not focused and actully try and make some moves you will not get anywhere. When portions are to small and not nutrious as well. To properly diet you must eat more fruits vegatables drink lots of water cut out fats fast foods and try walking more often. Dieting is simple you do not need to starve your self but you do need to be dedicated and focused that this is what you really want and the most important is have faith and believe in yourself believe you can do and you will make your goal weight.

I always try my best to be on a diet but i lack self-discipline. I can't control myself from overeating and I don't know if would ever be successful when it comes to dieting.^^ But let me just share you this information that I have read in an article. It's all about the best time to drink water. It only doesn't help to reduce weight but also to have good skin. In the morning- before doing anything else drink 2 glasses of water after you wake up. Before meal- 30 minutes before meal drink one glass of water After meal- not advisable to drink a lot of water. In the afternoon- about 2-3pm drink 2 cups of water. Lastly, before going to sleep don't forget to drink one or two glasses of water a hour before you sleep.

There's a good chance that she's saying "it isn't working" because she's expecting a result immediately. Real diets don't work like that. Diets that lose lots of weight quickly are only temporary unless you're VERY self-disciplined. It's more important to get long-term effects, a little bit at a time. And she shouldn't weigh herself too often. Just once a week is fine. Any more and she risks psychological effects that will slow down the benefits of the diet (yes, that really does happen!).

Hi my dear friend, though the article was a bit conflicting the bottom line is that dieting must accompany a life eating habit change. Diets do now work if we only do it temporary, it is a life altering change that one must do for it to really work. Skipping and cutting corners does help some loose weight but they must remember to make full changes. See it is easier to loose weight then it is to maintain and keep it off. One must make it a life change for it to be a permanent weight loss and maintenance.

I little exercise to go along with your diet would help. Sometimes the fats are already there and you need to sweat it out as well.

hi friend. I would like to give you some suggestions.. Ask your friend to drink 1.5 liters water in empty stomach at early morning. It is really difficult.. But in the practice, it is possible. In the beginning, you can drink by having some gap.. Then after few mins. ask her to go for walking regularly twice a day. Morning before meals and night after the meals. Then if possible, ask her to take abdomen exercise in the morning after walking ( Without taking rest after completed walking ).. Then diet should be in control.. Try to take food stuff for only in noon time and ask her to maintain tiffin in morning and night. Should not take excessive stuff to eat.. If she follow this for up to 3 months.. Then she will get good output.. Cheers !!!

what kind of diet is your friend taking? i had tried egg diet, and it works for me.. i normally eat like 6-8 eggs a day, normally 2 eggs in the morning then lunch egg sandwich and dinner if not 2 eggs again i would have some soup. but mostly i put pickles on the egg also to have different taste in it otherwise you might get fed up eating eggs. if you say you are on a diet you should have self discipline and must follow your diet strictly otherwise it wont really work. for best results also, it is better to exercise along with your diet. and your friend must be patient for the results, you won;t get results that quickly and easily

I am not sure what that article was getting at. I think it was saying don't starve yourself when you go on a diet because it is bad for you. What kind of diet is your friend on? Here are some of my tips that might help on her diet. No more soft drinks! Only drink water. You would be amazed at how much you can lose just by cutting other drinks out of your diet. Exercise is a must! Walk morning and once at night. If she doesn't like walking everyday go swimming or turn on some music and dance. Anything is better than nothing. Eat smaller meals. Don't snack. If you feel hungry drink some water. Sometimes when you think you are hungry you are actually dehydrated. If you must snack go for celery, carrots or apples. Choose healthier stuff. Hope that helps your friend.

what your friend needs to do is calculate her metabolic rate, which is how many calories you burn when doing nothing, then work out how many she burns, given how much activity she does every day, and then calculate how much she can eat, given her current activity levels, and then eat less calories than that, preferably made up of healthy foods. and not too much less. there are a number of websites that will give her this information. it is only through eating less calories than you burn that she will lose weight, however don't go crazy, as if anyone suddenly reduces their food intake too much, the body will go into starvation mode, and will start to use less calories. so don't give it too much of a shock. so a gradual slow reduction is the solution, maybe eating 100 to 200 calories a day less than she uses. but she has to make sure the food she does eat is healthy food, as the body needs a constant supply of vitamins and minerals to work properly.

I think diet don't usually work long term because there are a lot of factors and sacrifice to make them work (even for a short time). I doubt that we'd see the whole point of things if we'd sacrifice and deprive ourselves from activities that we like, yeah it works for a few months or years, but it doesn't last the whole lifetime. My mom and I talked about this a few nights ago. It was when we saw my godmother who could be considered a fashionista ever since because she was so conscious with her figure. Then we saw her super fat without waist! It was a shocker, but I guess she grew tired of the dieting and thought that she's older so she doesn't need to sacrifice anymore. I just don't think it would work. I think we could do ourselves the favor of not doing such unnecessary sacrifice. Have a great MyLot experience ahead!
