Hello Lotters,
Not really the kind of education that you usually learned from classes which usually involves teachers tutoring the basics. Or some professors requiring you to research just to prepare for quizzes or recitations of some sort. probably not like giving a thesis or any kind of presentation.
No, The kind of education that you will get is informal. Most experience in their lives, the lessons they learned and the views that they believed. It gives you a lot of opportunity to have the kind of education that you don't get into schools.
As for me, that's one major reason am Addicted here, I am learning from ALL of you.

Yes many discussions have been very informative for me as some have allowed me to learn about traditions and cultures that I otherwise would not have had an in-depth explanation offline. I truly appreciate the many members who patiently explain and allow me to learn along side with me.
Getting to bed earlier would be a plus for you and I do hope that with time you can have a regular schedule.

I have to admit too that I'm learning from everyone here in mylot. I get to express myself freely and I really do enjoy how the people extends their time just to read and respond to whatever you post. I really love it here and I get worried that I couldn't log in, in a single day. It makes me sad to miss opening mylot. :)

Pbbsra, same here I couldn't believe am sleeping late again. if only the internet wasn't offline for the last few minutes then i would have considered finish in my usual posting here. common subjects that are usually every day problems and unsual things that happen to most of us and some lessons that people learned that we can avoid. have a nice day.

I agree with that. There are some really educational discussions going on here on mylot. We are not just making money here we are also learning because there are people with expertise in different areas making excellent contributions. Likewise we are also teaching others. It is a win-win situation.

i learned a lot from mylot, like how to make a certain recipe and share my ifes recipe as well. i also learn about other people's beliefs and culture. i also learn a lot of first aid and more than i can not imagine. i also learned a lot about women and how to deal with them and it makes my relationship with my wife better. i also learned a lot of tips about parenting. it is truly a very educational site. more power to us and for mylot as well.

it is forbidden when you copy paste it from another site, but if it is your own recipe it is not forbidden. i even posed my wifes recipe for puto and there are a lot of members who are willing to try. my ife even learned to make tomato sauce out from real tomatoes from here. as long as it is all your original it wont get deleted. i too have a lot of women friends here at mylot, i guess a husband and a father like me is not the visible here at mylot. have a nice day too.

Hello Seven, I never learned any kind of cooking recipe because it was forbidden to post it according to the guidelines. well, I learn to deal with women too even though am not used to talking to most of them. and not to mention the only contact mylotters that i have now are women, which is a good side that i can have women friends that can stand by me. have a nice day.

I've been saying the same thing but not about Mylot but Twitter. You can get a second education if you follow certain people. For instance, if you want to learn about techie things, you can follow mashable or guy kawasaki. If you want to learn SEO, maybe follow RadarRoy. I don't find Mylot as insightful.

Hello Joanna, I rarely make topics about parenthood because am single but nothing really happened that much with my mom except that she's been really busy with other online activities. even now, she as other things to do in her organization with lots of people talking about her. I agree. No amount of formal education can match the knowledge we earned from learned and experienced people in mylot. Knowledge is our very own fixed assets where no one can ever take away from us. Being here for many years have increased the the fixed assets in my knowledge bank. So for those who are still doubtful, mylot is such a wonderful place to be in. It only explain the reason why I am still around without ever thinking of hanging my boots.

rrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr lost all my response darn. copy paste I have learned so much here from all of you of culture and customs and I love it as its not boring, no professor droning on and on and pacing back and forth. I would fall asleep and my young classmates would nudge me before I could get embarrassed.
I graduated with MyBA at age 56 and my classmates all clapped for me.so nice. but this is so much more pleasant just learning naturaly from one other.

Hello Hatley, If you would listen to a professor he or she would have considered talking about the Philippines like another africa or something but definitely we are not like that at all. i agree with you buddy. mylot is a place for informal education.
i learned a lot from here, from friends and other members.
i learned about a lot of things which i have not learned from school or from our own home.
i learned more about life.
i learned a lot without paying any tuition fees.

No one can foresee that even a knight can learn through this informal education forum here to become an educated knight, it is not like you have to fight through all battles to conquer all land, you can also learn all through mylot informal education system, it is quite a personal enrichment experience after all.

But, then really everything in life is an informal learning experience if you approach it the right way. I am very thankful for my friends on mylot that have opened my eyes to many new experiences and points of view every day. A teacher once told me that to stop learning is to die and really that is the truth. If you were to stop opening yourself up to new experiences you no longer have a life worth living.

Hello Dismalgrin, I believe that we are required to learn the basics even in college but some times it's really hard though because there are thigns that are not taught from school. but school is just a thing to prepare us for a real living situation and yet we can still learn from those other people who has learn the ins and outs of life. have a nice day.

I super agree. Here we learn a lot about each others' culture and differences. We learn how to respect our differences and how to react or to interact in a way that we can impart a piece of knowledge to everyone. To those who are here for money, they learn patience to work to get the minimum pay out. For those who like receiving responses, they learn the patience to wait until their post is read. We learn a lot even though we are not aware that we do.

i agree with everyone here. in mylot i am able to be updated with the situations in the other countries earlier than they come out from our local news and i am also educated on the traditions and opinions from out friends.
