I am using a lot of oatmeal in different ways since I started chemo. Oatmeal is wonderful for digestion as it has more fiber than other grains and as it is whle it also has protein. Now I eat a mug of broth mid morning with a spoonfull of instant oatmeal and I´m constantly snaking wit my own recipe of oatmeal cookies that have more fiber and less cholesterol (Check my post in "cancer"). YUMMY!!!

Hello genius and welcome to myLot. Yes I like oatmeal but I prefer steel cut oats. I like them because there is more to chew and to me they are more filling and keep me from getting hungry longer. I usually cook a big batch until it is almost done then store it in the fridge for a few days heat some up every day. I like to add real butter and molasses for sweetener. brown sugar is jut sugar that has had the molasses added back after it is processed out of it. Beside black strap molasses is full of iron that we women need and molasses is a better way to get it than with pills.

Oatmeal is one of my favorite foods. I usually buy a big pack of oatmeal to get a lot of savings. Oatmeal is a healthy food that was recommended by my doctor to me. It is said that it can lower down bad cholesterol.

yeah, with milk and sugar. Eat 170g each day because as a vegetarian I've figured it's a very good protein source in combination with pulses (of course not eaten at the same time :-))
