Lost without a spellchecker!

I don't know what went wrong but somehow my browser lost it's spellchecker add-on. So for two days, I have been posting God knows what sort of comments! You kind of get used to seeing that red squiggly line and without it, everything looks odd - it's as if you suddenly became word blind. So I downloaded it again since I finally noticed that it was missing, and now sanity has hopefully returned. So, do you have it installed? For Firefox it is an extension called "United States English Spellchecker". Other browsers have a similar add-on. I need it a lot and I'm a natural English speaker! If English isn't your first language, you can learn a lot from it as well as correcting your spelling. Do you have it and does it help you?

I need it for this site and don't have one. I really should check it out. I don't have Foxfire but I am sure I could find a spellchecker.

I'm sure there will be one for whatever browser you are using. It removes a lot of the uncertainty when posting on mylot.

My friend was using Internet Explorer as their browser, and they did not have spell checker. So, I recommended they download FireFox, which already has spellchecker when you download it. That is the easiest way in my opinion. However, I am sure you could browse the internet for add-ons for browsers other than FireFox. Just be careful, and only download from trusted sites!

We have something I don't know what it is but if you spell a word wrong it will come out with a line underneath it so you know you spelled it wrong, but it does not tell you what the correct spelling is. Most of the time it is just a typo, but once in a while something is not spelled correctly and I have to look up the correct spelling on dictionary.com.

I go haywire without the spellchecker. Since English is not my mother's tongue, I have to rely heavily on this spellchecker to come up with the correct English spellings as I am a little confused sometimes on which spellings are supposed to be internationally recognized - British or American English. Looks like the internet is more comfortable with the American English. Even with the correct spelling but spelled in British English the red line will appear to show its objection.

Yes, for this site, American English works best even if I personally hate using it! I'm slowly getting used to spelling the American way but I still can't get to grips with American grammar, if there is any!
