A great amount of news over the last 25 years has reported how new technology has made our lives much simpler, organized and even safer! I believe it's made our lives safer for most of us. Paper transactions and statements are practically a thing of the past. But I see too many people letting their personal lives interrupted by cell phone calls and texting. They want to go eat with someone but never talk to them because their busy texting! Everyone around them hears their phone conversation at least 20 feet in all directions. Everyone also knows they are not talking to the person they went out with! Do you enjoy this new wave of the future or are you offended by it?

No doubt technology has taken our lives to a new era but has also made it a bit complicated too. Life is easy but it has disadvantages as well. Our days are not completed until we have surfed, texted, mailed and even IM your next door neighbour/ colleague. We do meet people online rather than face to face and we send e-invite for gatherings but early days personal touch was always there. Today's technological advancement is like a ready made food and not home cooked one. So enjoy and be with the crowd....

I do enjoy being able to keep track of friends and family easier but at a family reunion three people spent most of their time texting! WHAT!

Some do too much of show off also. I think people should have mobile etiquette as well... so others don't complain.

Life has been so much easier, thanks to technology. However it has its pros nd ons just like most other things nd to get the best out of it, we have to be careful wen using it. Teleworking, commnication nd education have advanced over the last few decades due to all the advances in technology. Without it, our lives would hve been much harder nd tiring.

I've found it's more difficult now than it was and more expensive. Staying on top of it all is a constant learning process. However, after coughing up the cash it has been enlightening at times.

I find it financially impossible to stay on top of technology. Imagine always trying to always have the newest and latest? You wouldn't be able to afford to eat!

Technology is indeed a big help for me especially in my work where i need to do research in some countries. Also, it is a big help doing household chores like washing clothes and I dont have to dry those washed clothes under the sun because we have also the spin dryer which instantly dry my clothes. I guess there are really good and bad help from the high technology but we must maximize also the good help.

Technology is a great help or a drawback depending on how you use it.

Well, technology for me is really a big help now. It makes things more easier. remember, when I was watching a movie where the setting was kinda old and not so techie, I always thought that the life before was very hard. I'm thankful that I lived in this generation. But on the contrary, new technology has its side effect, and it is being dependable and lazy. Well, I think I dont have further explanation with this, because its pretty obvious.

I agree, technology can be an asset or a drawback, depending on what we do with it.

Everyone finds it either fun or challenging or both to keep up with developing technology. I don't know how many times I've been told to upgrade my cell phone!

It does made my life easier... However the problem is that I'm lacking actual experience when it comes to working/earning online. On the other hand, technology did make bridges to connect me and my friends from other countries... Resulting to a much greater experience of learning each others aspects in life.

I truly enjoy most of it..like the microwave...computer but like you I am not so hepped up on the cell phone in public. Last time I had my oil changed I had to sit next to someone and by the time she left I knew way more about her then I wanted..not to mention that her mother was in chemo...her best friend new boyfriend was a comedian....all that useless garbage that should have been kept personal....also we had a scrapping weekend at my sister's once and her friend was also invited. She talked on the phone so much I wanted to ask her...do you want to be with us or them?

I hate it when I have to go to lunch with a coworker who does this! I truly love being around twenty somethings but, not when lunch doesn't include "getting to know you" or just conversation, I feel it was pointless to find a restaurant you both can agree on.

I have to say that it's absolutely convenient than before as the technology is greatly better than before.I found everything much easier than before, but everything has two coins, there may be some bad effects to us as we are benefiting from the good ones. So,we are lucky to live in the 21st century,we could make everything change.

It made my life easier. In almost all part of my life it did. In cleaning the house, washing the dishes, washing clothes. In terms of transactions, it also helped a lot. I guess it depends on how we use it and adopt to its presence in our lives. Some people depend on technology too much and that's when it becomes bad.

A balance should be made between technology and your life. You should reserve some time for yourself and prioritize what's important other than answering those texts and calls. Let's face it, technology did help a lot in making our lives but we should also stop and appreciate life, nature and the simple things.

Amen! Like walking in the grass in your bare feet in the morning when the sun is just coming up! Or rising early, before everyone else, and saddling your favorite quarter horse for a nice long "spin" around the country side!

I believe that this is about advantage and disadvantages of technology. I myself is happier about how new technologies through gadgets make my life so easier and convenient but in the other hand it has made me lazy and got less attention to my loved ones. I know that what happened with your particular situation is that, the person had no ethics or respect at all. Most people even in professional world do the same way now. I even remember my professor several times when we had classes that he would go running outside or take his phone call in front of the class. Some of my colleagues would take their phone calls on our meetings or cannot quit texting. That's very unprofessional and I think that people just need to be reminded with ethics.

technology has definitely made life easier and made so many people addicted to it. Addiction to anything is very bad, friends are not hanging out with any they are only found on chatting sites and even lover are not meeting but sending text messages often. It has become very rare to see a person who is not chatting in his phone. Every technology improvement has its own kind of negative effects.

Yes technology has made my life easier by being able to keep tabs and find friends and family, online banking, ( I love the banking thing. Never have to enter a branch), being able to comparison shop while in the store. What I DON'T like however, is the person who talks loudly and non-stop on their cell phone. I use public transportation to get around and one of the worst things is hearing a cell phone conversation. I usually get the loud end of the conversation. Very annoying!!
