Yesterday I found interesting (close to weird in fact) discussion. One of lotters (If not mistaken from Kuwait) asked for money. He/she even give email address for that purpose (for some reason, the discussion itself is already deleted) If I can make money just like that, I gonna do it everyday .....hahaha What do you think about this ....?

There were two violations in a topic like that: - we are not allowed to post personal contact information in the discussions - begging is not allowed I am great believer in getting things done by yourself. If you are hard up then asking others for funding is not as productive as getting on and doing something to earn it yourself. If others lend you money then you are under obligation to repay it while if you earn it yourself, however little it is, then it is yours for keeps.

Yes it is true the poster did not adhere to the rules when posting something like that. Thing is you all are calling this person a beggar, or what have you. If one becomes that desperate to ask for money online, could it be true? Could this person actually need help? I am not niave, I do realize there are scammers and spammers etc. I also do believe there are people desperate enough to just come out and ask for help because they do not have any thing else to try.

Yes I believe there are plenty that ask just to get what they can whether they need it or not. I also believe there are many people who DO NEED help that are also coming right out and asking for help. That this is going to become even more so as the economies in the countries get worse over time. I have seen actual sites that encourage people who need help to post what their needs are and in some cases they do get the actual offline help. What got them that is the online beginning of posting. So with that, we have both online as well as offline, those that truly need help and those who truly do not. It is up to those that want to help to know the difference. I have helped some online and happy that I have. I have also found some that just are not in the need and I did not give help to them. It is the research that made the difference.

When I talk about "asked help online" I mean in term of "ask money" but for general term, I agree with you Asked for help it's okay as long not involve money on their request.

Asked for help online came from desperate person ...? Ooh common. If that person really really need financial help, he/she gonna do it offline. There real help came from, "Online" only give you advice. 90% person who post that thing must be scammer.

Nearly an year before one girl from South East also asked for a financial help from the myLoters. The reasons what she explained were found genuine, but I don't think people will be ready to extend the help in such a way. These days people who belongs to the same family or friends are not doing the financial help and if this is the case, how would provide a help to an unseen or unknown people. Even I couldn't do it and I felt pity on her. Thank-s

Really, online or offline, it is a violation of rule from the company, such tendency is not supposed to promote and people should come here only for discussions only. If anything more, we need to keep personal contacts and look for it. Thank-s

Yup, we can't trust anyone who we don't know personally. Not just online, we must do it offline as well.

I keep receiving emails with similar contents...sometime with a long story in mails.but its all scams as you all know.It might be new to it in mylot posts though. I am thinking what if there was a real needy people left hope to get help from people around in real and s/he tried to ask money from people online, even if s/he be a genuine needy person but..because of online scams we wouldn't help. People go to gulf countries to earn money.and they get paid good salaries.I am wondering if s/he was genuine?

I saw that last night, and to be honest with you I very much doubt that anyone actually sent him anything. At the end of the day, he could have been anyone online and we have no proof in the slightest that he needed the money or that he didn't have any money of his own in the first place. I think that it is against the rules to do that anyway so I have no doubts that the discussion in question will have been deleted by now. Or, at least, I would hope that it is as it might actually trick people into sending someone money who doesn't really need anything.

For people participate in the discussion of mylot come from different places and have different characters, it's not strange for us to see a post of such contents. I also saw a lot of similar requests somewhere in the past. Some people claimed that they need some money for urgent reasons, for instance, to pay the huge medical expensens of their families. But in reality, most of such reasons are false. So we'd better not cheated by these people and watch our wallets.

Scammers are very everywhere. Some can be very creative and innovative.Just imagine you can victimize so many people , wow that's a lot of money. But there has been a lot of awareness nowadays about how scammers do their thing. You would just be amazed the new tricks they think of everytime. What's annoying is that they think most people are stupid.

Really? I did not receive such a letter but one time there was one discussion of a member who was like begging for people to help her with her money problems. I think we all have the same problem that is why we are all here, so I might add that the lady is in the wrong place.

I think people will try anything to get money. Some may seriously need them, but the majority has made the rest of us too wary to part with our hard-earned cash over the internet. Furthermore, we are all also in dire need for it. Why burden others with the begging?

That my point, why burden others with begging when we already know that we all need and had problem with it.

I won't beg for something. I'd rather work hard to earn money. Begging is the last thing I will ever do. And I don't think mylotters will give him/her. Because all of us are working for a penny. And she/he asked money that easily? What duh?

Little bit out of topic. If someone want give you $1000 but in return you must for beg for it (just 1 time), are still stand in your position? (this just question "if", not mean to offend you) For me, if just one beg ..... why not, big money for 1 beg .... not bad deal

That is really rude. Clearly they are desperate for money or a scammer. I don't even think anyone will be dumb enought to give them money.

I pick the second one (scammer). They not give money directly but I do believe when someone respond to it (visit or send email), they gonna get some attack on their email or paypal.

hi Olleenz its illegal to make discussions begging for money and personally I find it very tacky too.My gosh we all need nmoney and some of us are in bad straits but we are not going to beg from our friends here and embarrass both of us.You had me laughing there, yes were it that easy I too would stand with a hat out begging for pennies. I am joking so do not take me seriously at all.

Hi Hatley, I'm not sure that I breaking any rule (I'm not begging or something). My reason why I start this discussion is why someone still ask help/charity/donation; it's already clear in FAQ's that we can't ask for help(beg), donation, request etc. I think the scammer underestimate us. By the way, where you find that hat ........ maybe I join with you (if money came that easily)

Hello Ollenz, I cannot say if he/she was actually in need of money but certainly i cannot believe so easily on people.I also need money but i never beg for money. In fact every body needs money but this is least preferred way to have money. But if we see on the counter part may be that fellow was really needed money so badly but forgot that begging is against the guidelines of MYLOT and not a platform/place to beg but admin did not forget and delete that discussion.

In my opinion if they asked offline and meet us personally, there is possibility that he/she really need help. But when we in "online" activity, I don't see any possibility that person really need help (we don't know that guy for real...). Don't you agree?

That is a scam. A low-blow and desperate cause to have money. Easy one for them and a loss for you. Let's not fall for it.
