Hi zelmarq! Think of the things you put inside the fridge and then think of how you can replace them with something that does not easily spoil. For wet goods, I think you can buy a portion good enough for one cooking which will be good for a day. That way, you don't have to put anything in a fridge. And then, you can cook dishes that are not easily spoiled like adobo or something.

Gosh I don't think you cann save more with no refrigerator. A refrige is esential in my opinion. The newer ones are low energy perhaps you could get a used one?? The only protein item that comes to mind to store and eat w/o a frigge is peanut butter...which I love

You'd have to change your diet to non-perishable foods that need not be refridgerated, or you will need to go back to the old fashioned ice box, and power a cooler with bags of ice. You could also get a gas powered fridge. There are religious orders in North America who do not believe in using electricity, and this is what they use for a fridge, a gas powered one.

we dont have that here, may be we can marinate things specially meat and maybe cook our meat for our veggies, but it would be not that economizing.

I'm really not sure how you will be able to save food now unless you buy a cooler or something like that to keep your foods cooled off. If you don't have a way to store food, it will spoild and you will lose it and the money you spent on it.

I don't think so because when something is on sale, we can purchase more and either refrigerate or freeze the extra, saving us money. Plus you'd take a risk of eating something that went bad..Even bread gets moldy if it is old enough...

You can buy an insulated cooler chest and keep ice in it for perishable foods. You will have to go to the market more often, or you can buy just enough to eat at each meal. You can get meats and tuna in cans to eat.

well... you won't be paying for the electricity for the fridge, but you have to learn how to buy just small amounts, shop daily and eat all you have, unless it won't got bad really quickly like cake or pie canned food is really your only option besides small amounts of fresh foods - good luck

Maybe you can just buy foods that can be consumed completely every meal. But if you have another one mate with you, then you can share in the expenses of buying foods for the two of you, seeing to it that there are no left-overs, because there's no more fridge to keep it. In addition, you can have some instant foods handy, in case you get hungry any time.
