I always wear a watch. I can't imagine replaceing it with a mobile phone. Also I am always on time. One reason I think is my watch. Because its quick and easy to check the time, unlike the phone. I noticed that people who don't wear watches sometimes are late. So I think people wearing a watch have more a connection to the time. How do you see that?

If you are always on time, then wearing a watch makes you convenient to check the time. If you don't care the time, watch means nothing to you, you would be always late still even you wear one.

Not necessarily. However, it help a person become punctual when a person is wearing a watch with correct time. You become aware of time when you are wearing a watch.

Well that depends upon the person, wearing watches certainly does not make a person punctual, I always wear watches, i have so many of them, some are analog type that needs winding daily, some are battery operated, some are digital, my favorite one is a watch given by my late father in 1962 when i passed high school examination. I am definitely punctual, you may ask why, well if i don't go to my class to deliver lectures, my students will shout yell after 5 minutes, so i am there just in time lol. Thanks for sharing Best of luck. Professor

Yeah, i guess you can make that connection. I always wear a watch too- and i am usually punctual. but the main reason i wear a watch is that i am always anxious when the class will end. i want to now how many minutes more i'd have to endure.

I always feel more comfortable if I know what time it is quickly and easily, so I always wear a watch. I usually am on time because I hate being late, but even with a watch sometimes the time gets away from me!

How about friends and family? Or are you like the only watch wearer?

I am the only watch wearer in my family! My father and brother cannot wear them while at their jobs, and they have gotten used to not wearing them. My mother doesn't like the way they feel on her wrist, and neither does my husband. It's just me as the lonely watch wearer.

Hi, When your life depends on it, it is always good to follow it to the minute. In my SCUBA diving world a single minute of miscalculation can mean fatal consequences which is one reason I have to wear a dependable timepiece where ever I go, especially when I am down to 75 feet underwater. Needless to say, I have cultivated the habit of timing my every move, such as going to work or doing something, anytime, anywhere.

That's an excellent question! Yes, in some ways I DO think watch wearers are probably more punctual. I also wear a watch, and it's handier to twist the wrist than to get the cell phone out of the holder to check it. I also agree that when a person is wearing a watch they are more attuned to what time it is just because it's really easy to just look at your wrist. Like you, I am (and always was) punctual. I also note that others in my family who wear watches are punctual people too. I find that when I don't have my watch on, I sometimes just lose track of time. I guess in a way it's still a handy visual reminder.

It depends on the person. I know some of my friends who wear watch but they're always late. I also have some friends who doesn't wear a watch but too punctual. But for me, I'm always on time whenever I wear a watch because its easy for me to determine what time is it so that I can manage things and balance my activities at the right time of the day.

I think you are right, but I don't think it is because of the watch versus the phone. Some people just don't seem to care about the time and wouldn't check the phone either!

I don't agree. To some people, wearing a watch is just like an accessory and they won't bother about the time. Some wear watches for sake of wearing. Later comers are usually those with watches, especially where my friends are concerned. So long as it's not within 15mins to our meeting time, they will take it as being too early to rush, since that's what their watch told them so.
