If someone is staring at you, will you stare back? What does it make you feel?

it's always interesting to see twins. i have to admit i also try to find similarities and differences when i see pairs. but to continuously stare and make them uncomfortable is not right.

Sometimes, I forget that it is because I'm a twin that's why people stare a lot at me. I'm still not used to people staring despite all these years. Little children stare at us as well - stares that are much more intense than adults do. I find it cute though and I am not a bit annoyed at all. They appear to be really confused when they see double!

Me too! I get so uncomfortable when people stare at me (or us). I usually don't know how to react. Since we're getting lots of unwanted attention, I tend to avoid people's eyes when I walk on the streets. Just recently, we passed by a group of male workers hanging out outside a store. One of them shouted, "Good morning twins! Are you going to work now? Wait for me." I don't know whether to laugh or to get scared. Some people also seem to know where we work. If I'm going to run for a government position, I'd be ecstatic with my "popularity", but I don't want to be popular among strangers. It's kind of annoying. I think friends or acquaintances who are staring at us to find similarities and differences is okay (although it can be quite uncomfortable too LOL). But stares from strangers are pretty scary.

smiling will always be the last option for me as i am not sure why the person is staring.

sometimes that gets them off guard and may spook them back.

even if the girl or guy is very attractive, i would still find it offending. it is alright to admire but to gawk at somebody is a different thing. i agree, staring back can also be dangerous.

Well, when I said staring at a beautiful girl I meant admiring. Everyone does that and there is nothing wrong with it. But yes gawking become stalking and that is just a very uncomfortable feeling. Always be aware of your surroundings and make sure there are lots of people around.

i do not stare back. i get wary about these people and i do not want to leave an impression that i am interested.

I actually give the "i am pissed" stare and they will just look away. Or I keep looking at them until they do so!

oh, i know what you mean about those instances that you thought you are the one being stared at and discovered later that there is a very attractive lady or guy beside you. ha ha what would you do if your suspicion's right? that there's a b**ger on your face?

i agree, dorannmwin. there are people who are not even aware that it can sometimes be rude. a glare is not the same as a glimpse.

that is a courageous act. i don't think i can be able to go to that point of asking.

i'll just go away after giving a sharp eye. or if there is no way i cannot leave at once, i'll just turn away.

looks can be deceiving, karstine. we can never tell.

it can truly be upsetting. unlike you, i do not stare back. i try to avoid people who loves to glare at other people. not really a comfy feeling.

i would understand people, if i am in a foreign country, to stare at me. that is understandable, though it appears like it is scary, and impolite for those people.

come to think of it, who knows if it is somebody i know from the past?
