People that move home

Some people choose to move because their family has got larger. They usually stay in the same area. Other people move to a different area due to work commitments. I decided to buy a cottage when I was 19 years old. It was two hours drive away from my mom's house. I kept it for 14 years and let it only when I traveled around the world. My brother-in-law got a new job and my sister and he moved down there. My mom decided she would go there too. I didn't want to have my family so far away from me so I choose to move there as well. It is a coastal town with a pier, a big wheel and from the beach two little islands can be seen. I like living just 10 minutes drive from the sea. Have you moved home? What was the reason? Did you stay in your same area or go somewhere completely different?

ya know, around here if you say "moved home" that means you moved back in with your parents... I'm guessing that you mean have you moved to some place else - in your case, to another town because the rest of your family moved there... I still live in the city I grew up in, but I never moved back into my parent's house... I stayed because my mother was here, and I'll probably stay now that she's gone because I own a house and almost all my friends are here...

When I was 19 I made the biggest move of all.....from Germany to America {That's what love does to you}. Now I've been here 27 years and never been back home due to a severe fear of flying. Luckily my family comes here often. Living close to the water is a dream of mine but for the last 16 years I lived in Las Vegas and there's only a lake and I can't get there often cause I don't have a car

Myself and my hubby live in the same area as both sets of parents and in fact when we first moved out we were still really close and only around the corner from them but, then one set moved a little further away due to having to move out of the home they were in. I like being close but, would consider moving further if I had to.

My parents moved a lot when I was a child, I hated it and decided that I was going to stay at the same place when I became an adult, but I actually ended up moving even more than my parents! I have lived and worked in 5 different countries and even in my own country I have lived in many different places. I lived and studied in the north of Denmark for some years because I had a boyfriend from that part of the country. I lived near Copenhagen for a while because I went to school in that area. I lived in the central part of the peninsula for some years because I found a job there. I studied at a school in the southern part of the country (close to the German Border)and I lived in Germany while I went to that school. My husband I have known eachother for almost 4 years and during that time we have lived in 3 different parts of the country. At first we lived in a apartment in a big city, but it was quite small and we decided to rent a house in the countryside instead. We lived there for a while and then we decided to a buy a house on the island where my husband lived in the past. We moved here February this year and we are both very happy here.

I have not moved away from home yet. I guess if I were to do it, I would probably do the same, not to move very far from family. It is always best to be close because they would always be there to lend a hand when you need help.

About 8 years ago, I moved my family half way around the world. Although I already had responsibilities then, and it was easier to stay put, I gambled on moving to make a better future for my family. It was tough the first few years, but it has gotten better. Maybe in the next few years I would finally realize that my gamble has paid off.

Before I started my work after college, I lived together with my parents. Since I started to work, I have moved a few times because of the change of my working unit. But wherever I move, I love the place where I live and I get used to it soon. Now I live in a nice apartment on campus close to a small river outside the campus. I am happy that I live on the top floor and can enjoy myself with those beautiful views on and around the river and the faraway mountains. Have a good day, maximax.

I have moved only twice in my life, but never too far from family, maybe, I am just like you, and do not want to have my family too far from me, both times I did it, it was just because I was bored to live in the same place, though I still live in the same area, moving to a new place, gives you a new motivation, I don´t know, it gives life a new perspective, since it helps you to break all the routines you previously had.

Wow, how did you buy your own cottage at 19!? Anyways, yes I've moved 2 hours away from my parent's house when I got married. I've also returned home when I got a divorce.

I have lived in many houses since I got mrried. My husband built houses so we often moved to the new house when it wasn´t finished, lived there until we found it nice, garden included, and then sold ir and got started again. The houses also grew with our needs. The most I have lived in a home has been in this one that was built to suit special needs and that was the last house my busband built. It has many memories for me and although I have changed some things and done some repairs, it´s my home until I die. It´s big enough to invite a group of three

A lot of times that I moved because of work, but now I am waiting for my new house to be finish and will move again. Currently I live on my parents house but I have my own family now. I need to live my life the way should it be, anyway my new found home is just a block away from my mom's house so there is no need to worry about missing or anything with her. Anytime we could visits her and know things from her

We have moved like 9 years ago because my brothers and I were growing up and needed our own room. We used to share room with 2 of us and my oldest brother had his own room but since the brother in the middle needed his space too my dad decided to get a new house. We were going to buy a new house in the area we lived but one day when my dad went to the city that he owns apartments, he found the house we live today. I was mad that we have to move over here and not around we used to live but kinda got over it. Responding to this discussion still makes me wonder if only we had a house in the area we used to live than here were we live now.

Hi Maxi, Wow, I always dreamed of staying in a cottage. Nevertheless, I still live in a home made out of bricks. Yeah, my family and I moved about 2 years ago from our previous home, since it was on rental basis. I bought a new home located in a completely new area. However, we adapted well with the surrounding residents because they are friendly. Lucky me I guess. But, I still miss my old house since it was quite and more peaceful now. Currently, me and my family are living closer to the city. I am still planning for a new house. Maybe, after I am transferred to somewhere else, due to my work. Happy Mylotting!
