Have you ever felt like there are no best friends left in the world?

I have had my share of best friends, but I have also been disappointed by every and each one of them. To be honest, I love being a friend and I am there 24/7, but it seems that people nowadays don't feel the same. What do you think?

I have to agree with you. Seems people have different priorities these days. You definitely find out who your friends are when you are in need.

You are right we do not always get back what we unselfishly give. I do think though and maybe it is being an optimist or just looking ahead to the future that if you continue to develop friendship that you find someone that give even more than you expect them too.

I have cultivated so few friends myself. Perhaps I am just much too choosy. I have had two at the grade school level. I managed to have the luck of meeting one of them when I was delivering a baby for the third time. It was because she was working in that hospital. You can just imagine how much time it required to keep us talking before we can say our goodbyes. I have managed to have two more in high school. These are the ones who have stayed as my long time friends because we continuously have contacts with each other till this day. The last one, I have had her during my college years. Since she hails from a different place, I have never had any news about her the moment that we parted ways in 1972. But, I can still remember her so well.

I know how you feel. It seems like best friends are few and far between anymore. I am so jealous of people who have best friends and they hang out all the time and do stuff together. I just can't seem to find that. I have two or three close friends but it seems like they are too busy in their own lives. I have a life and three kids too but I can manage to make time for my friends too. It hurts that they won't do it for me.

It is because all trust and deeds seem to have crumbled down and people are so concerned with themselves other than anyone close to them in form of a friend. It is good to have friends in life. Trust builds everything.

I still believe I got them all . Some maybe not that active but still the best friend that used to be and will never be out when i need them. I maybe available for them but there are times, uncontrollable circumstances keep me away from them when they need me. I guess, time is not important but the essence of being there in times when you can matter sometimes!

I don't think so , because true friends never disappoint their friends
