I think many people are also thinking of this kind of question. Most of us of course wants a good job and a high salary. But if you're asked what would you chose a good job position or a high salary?

i think i will choose the salary, because nowadays practicality is the most important thing for us and our family to survive. and i think no matter what position you are in, to have an honest job is also one that matters.

Practically you're right and I'll go for high salary too. High position means higher responsibility. I'd better off follow orders that making decisions. I'm no fan of leadership.

yeah, i also don't have any knowledge in leadership or even if i have i don't know how to implement it.LOL. in my present work,i have some subordinates but they have mixed schedules and not all of them come to work with me at once. i don't know how to approach if i will delegate some tasks, so i always start with a smile and end with a please or vice versa. i always laugh about my action, and i also asked about my approach to them, and told them to just tell me if they have some problem with my of delegating tasks.

Well for me high salary ,high job.But it depends on your performance in the company you applied. Sometimes takes time to be in high position, but there is work that high salary with no high position.

I am a career-minded person. When I look for jobs, my first priority is the type of job. I prefer a job which is in my line of specilaization. I cannot and do not want to be doing some thing I am not good at. So, it would more like a good job position, the right type of job position !

I've actually been in this dillema before. I was working for a small company and I already had a high management position. And then I had a chance to go to a bigger company, back to a junior level role, but higher a higer pay. I was there for more than 5 years, when early this year, my old company called me up and said they want me back. They offered an even higher compensation package, so here I am back to my old job again. Sometimes, you have to try both to see which you prefer. And maybe once in a while, the stars would line up so that you could have both. Even if you have to wait a few years for it.

This is like comparing reputation and money. If you have a higher position then you have a higher reputation among others but, even if you have a high position but still low in salary, it does really make sense to have a higher salary than a good job position.

I want a high salary of course. Most of the time though that when you have a good position you would also have a good salary... :D just go to a reputable company that is known because they pay better than small start up companies.

Wouldn't a good wage or salary automatically come along with a higher level job position?

Should I chose high position or good salary. I prefer high salary to good position. To my concern, good job position means good salary. I want both of them if I didn't have to chose. I want a good salary, because I'm not good at leading people.

It depends on what position I loved more. If I liked the position with higher salary, I would choose that one. However, if I enjoyed the higher position with lesser money, than I would choose that one. To me, you have to have fun with the position you're in, or else there's no point in working! If you don't love your work, then I think it can have a huge effect on the quality of your life, so I'd just choose the position I loved best regardless of the salary or position. :)

I will prefer the high salary. High position means leader or something. I know I am not that type of person who is good at leading or guide other people. But I know I can be a good team member. High salary is enough.

I'll rather choose a high salary compare to high position because if you have a higher position then you got a lot of responsibilities, and sometimes, with a greater responsibilities leads to see in court if just committed a slight error then plenty of people are in peril.... for example: A Ship Captain having a big Salary yet he has the biggest and most responsible that whenever the ship colliding to another ship (head-on situation) the you only not damaging the whole both of the ships, but the lives of the passengers and the crews of both ships, plus the containers and all of the valuable things, those oil spills that hurt all the marine lives, and the delayed of the products because it never reaches its port of destinations.... just for a slight error..... i'll rather go for small position with a higher salary.... less worries, and i still have enough time for my family.... and not to stick always with my boss....
