I was in a relationship with the same person for three years. It was a pretty volatile relationship. He ended up in prison...I stuck by him for two and a half years while he was in there, but I finally had enough and I left him a few months ago. I was so proud of myself. After a couple of months of being single, I met this new guy. We've been hanging out a lot, and I really like him, but since I haven't been with anyone in a couple of years face to face, everything is so new to me. I'm so nervous that I'll mess something up. I know he's going to kiss me tomorrow and I'm so nervous. I haven't kissed anyone in years. I'm afraid it'll be awkward. Have you ever had to kiss someone after years of not being intimate with anyone? Was it awkward? Did you get over it fast?

Just remember this; You have never kissed him, but that means he has never kissed You! It will be a new experience for both of you. Doesn't really matter how many people either of you have kissed before, nor how long ago since your last kiss. It's all new for both of you.
Just relax and enjoy the moment.

From what I read in your initial post, no one can blame you one bit for worrying.
No need to worry about this one though, every first kiss is exciting. I know the anticipation runs through your entire body. I personally know that when I was face to face in that moment for the first time, I felt the anticipation and the excitement too.

Believe me if you have feeling for this new guy the kissing won't be a problem at all. To kiss someone is a (strong) feeling and it has nothing to do with about being a good or bad kiss(er). It has to do with expressing your feelings (to eachother).
Your instinct and feelings will tell you what to do when so you can count on them and yourself.
Just enjoy your date and if he is an awkward kisser (bad in expressing his feelings) you are happy you get rid of him, you are back in the world of dating and you have had some recent experiences which is good too.
So see it that way and no experience is awkward at all.

Well, I would say you should just get on with it. Kissing you would be his new experience as well, just like it will be for you. I'm so happy for you that you finally got over of the old one and meeting a new one, and hopefully better than the last one. Good luck and I hope everything turns out alright tomorrow. You're gonna be great don't worry about it! The more you panic and stress and worry the less likely it will be right. Just relax and see how things go... Besides don't build up to a kiss at the end of the night, maybe you should just ask him for the kiss straight away to break the ice and then maybe you might get another one later on!

I wouldn't worry about it. You don't want to psych yourself out and make yourself so nervous. I would say it's like riding a bike, you never forget. You may be a little timid at first but I'm sure you'll adjust right away and be fine. If nothing else, be honest, tell him you're nervous.
