How has Facebook invaded your privacy?

With the new annoying Facebook feature "Ticker", Facebook users can now view their friends' EVERY activity real-time. I personally do not update my status every now and then, but I am active in a particular fan page, and for some reason I just don't want people to see me "liking", commenting, and posting there since I just don't want them to be annoyed (for all I know they do not care that much about my fandom ). Many people add a lot of friends and post too much updates that they forget about the risks. What do you think?

i'm not really a big fan of facebook i just usually use to chat or video call with friends and family out of the country. i would have used skype if the one im calling has it also. fb is really not that bad except for those who often update their status with what they are currently doing. they suck!

LOL yeah. Thank Facebook you can actually hide those posts or the user who post them when they get annoying. xD

It has not at all. I don't put my whole life on facebook, did not give all the info that is needed, I am not looking for old friends and my profile can only be seen by friends. I only started facebook once as I was very sick, had to stay in bed for a long time, to play the games and forget (at least try to forget) all the pain I have.

That is very interesting. I guess you put more effort in your actual life. That's a good thing because many people live in Facebook; it has already been their primary mode of themselves and many times it's frustrating when you get to meet these Facebook people who are alive and vibrant online but who are uninteresting and unfriendly in person.

I've left facebook but one of the things that made me leave was they didn't understand the concept of DEFAULT settings on posts. Every time you made a new post to a particular group of people that became your new default. You had to set who could see your postings every single time you made a post which is annoying and inconvenient - not to mention potentially revealing private information to the wrong people if you forgot to change the recipients.

I think that's a nice change in facebook because it can help you monitor your friends activity. I also think that it wont invade too much if you know how to control your activity on facebook. But somehow as i always browse facebook i usually saw some bad feedbacks about that "Ticker" that youre sayin. But for me it is very nice change as i can always monitor my crush's activities. :D

I understand. (LOL) Only when you have a crush, though. LOL. But in general you really don't wanna see everything that your friends are doing on Facebook. It can get repetitive and ergo, annoying.

I think that FB have made our live too much expose, each day they ask us for more and more info, some weeks ag asked for my specific address, and my phone and that is no on their bussines,I already fix the tag thing so each somebody want to tag me FB will ask me for permission.

Personally, when I don't want anyone knowing where I am or what I'm doing, I just log out, plain and simple. But then, I'd have to worry about someone tagging me in a place. So, yes, I think facebook has invaded my privacy but by and by I learned how to control it. Sad thing is, default settings in facebook are always in "shout-to-the-world" mode (example, the default setting for photos posted is for public or friends).
