I have an interview...

So I finally finished my degree two weeks ago and have my first big interview this coming week. Though it is several days away I am already nervous. I feel like everything has left my brain. What do I say? What do I do? What do I wear? I know these answers but it just seems like it is all a blur. Does anyone have any really good tips on interviewing?

That's excellent. So, you are now starting on your career ! Don't be nervous. I can already sense you are well-prepared, since you are already asking good questions to yourself already. It shows that your mind is working. That is the first thing most important. Then, follow it up finding some information about the Company where you are going for the interview, and what the duties will be of the job. Good luck to you !

It is actually a government agency. I already work for the state so this would just be for a different state agency and a slight change in what I would do.

Stay yourself, don't say: I will try but no problem I will I can do everything and don't be too greedy or needy to get the job and ask questions as well! It's not a one way commitment. They have to know what a great win it is to give you that job.

You are right. I'm just so excited and nervous all at once. This could be a 40% pay raise for me. I can't wait for Wednesday to come. Is it here yet? LOL

Hi there, your interview would have been this week already, then? =) I hope it went well... and Well If you have not gone about it, i wish you the best of luck in the job interview! Go with the flow of your conversation, be wise in your answers, relax and do not hurry yourself in answering. Almost all the time you would be distracted if you do not relax and if you worry about how you look. :D

There have been several articles lately that have focused on job interviews and what do to or not do at them. Check Monster.com for these type of articles. I did scan some of them and what I've gotten is: - Look professional. (Cover tattoos and limit the number of visible piercings) - Be confident - Research the company beforehand so you know what you can do for the company. Try to present yourself as a solution to a problem they may have. - Don't make the interview about you. As in, don't make it sound like all you're looking for is a job for the money (despite the fact that this is the main reason we all are at interviews). Again, as noted above, make it about what you can do for the company. My best tip is this - when you shake hands look them directly in the eye and have a firm grip. This shows confidence which is a big must in an interview. Good luck!

Hi! First of all, I want to say good luck and be ready to accept the best and worst outcome of the interview. It's not a bad thing that you are nervous. It makes you prepare and think about some of the possible questions that may arise. Definitely dress up professionally and get a good night rest to look refreshed although it may be difficult because you can't help but to get anxious and can't fall asleep. You should pick out your outfit and get it ready (like washing, dry cleaning, or ironing it, etc) the night before and also get all your paperwork/documents ready. You don't want to be looking for it last minute! Plan a simple breakfast and don't skip it because you will definitely need the energy. Don't forget to decide how you style your hair, remove excessive jewelery, etc. the night before also. Make sure you know the exact location and suite number or what not of the company. If it's not too far, you may want to drive past the area to get an idea of how the parking works, flow of traffic, and exact place you will be going into. You don't want to be late looking for the place last minute. Familiarize yourself with the surrounding to prevent confusion. Other than that, practice how you would present yourself and how you would answer questions that may or may not come up. Research what your job duties will include, how the company/department functions, company's mission, and relevant information about the company. You don't want to be replying with a lot of "I don't know". And many times after the interview, they might ask you if you have any questions. Make a small list of things to ask because you should always have some kind of question to show your interest in the company. There's a lot more of course that I'm sure others have contributed. Sorry if my response is unorganized and all over the place :)

It should depend on how formal the interview is.So maybe you could wear a little bit of formal clothes and more importantly,is being nice and neat.Nobody would like arrogant and untidy person.Just relax and it will be a pleasant interview.Good luck to you.lol

the best way to do is that list all the possible question whats the interviewer will ask you and prefer the answer.
