alot of people ask me why i do not like modern music artists like keshia or lady gaga and such to me music is supposed to be relatable and have meaning that is why i listen to it. i need to be able to relate to it. I also think music should have a point what do you guys prefer music with a point or whatever everyone else is listening to

I think that is why I like country music so much there is nearly always a story to it, songs with meaning are beautiful and some will go on forever because people relate to them...

Check out the song I gave a link to below. It isn't country but I'll bet you'll like it. It's a song from a grunge band..Pearl Jam. My boss used to only listen to country and now he's seen there is way more out there. IF you limit yourself to only one genre or cut off an artist because you don't like a lot of their music then you are missing out on some good stuff. My boss did not like a real lot of Pearl Jam but he liked this one song well enough to check out their other stuff and did find others that he liked...same with other musicians. I'm not a big fan of country music but there is some that I really do enjoy.

Very nice song, I enjoyed the clip as well, I have a friend with a home recording studio and I will surely pass this clip on to him, I am sure he would like a studio so well equipped

I'm pretty much into classic rock which is what I heard and listened to when i was younger, then my hubby turned me on to "the blues" which I very much enjoy. But I also liked some of the rap my son used to listen to (one or two anyway) and nowadays there's many songs my grand daughter listens to that I also like.

Hi Jazzyrae, I'm old and I actually like some of Lady Gaga's music. Can't say I like watching her but I do like some of her music. I think maybe you just haven't explored enough because I find a lot of newer stuff that I love as well as the old stuff...much of which didn't all have a lot of real meaning either. Ok...here's one for you just for example and it has a lot of meaning I think...and this is from a grunge band. check it out. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aePWkeDxRjE

I looked at your profile and you are only 18 which surprised me some. I'm 55. When I was a kid, I listened to everything. Some I liked and some I didn't but I didn't slot myself into any one genre. As a teen, I appreciated Dean Martin, Frank Sinatara, Neil Diamond,Perry Como, as well as the stones, beatles, Alice cooper, Aerosmith, Black Sabbath etc. I've never stopped loving the old stuff but I've also never stopped loving new stuff either. There is always going to be bad music and bad artists that get popular for some unknown reason...look at Insane Clown Posse. For whatever stupid reason... they have quite a following and I think their music is just horrible. Alot of the newer stuff is meaningful too. You just have to keep your ear open for it. If you only listen to the older stuff then that is all you are going to hear.

Yes, I agree that she is a bit out-there and bizzare but she isn't the only newer artist. There is a lot of very good newer music that is very good and does carry meaning. Did you listen to the one that I sent you? And that is just an example of a newer song. There are plenty that I hear all the time. What do you listen to for music?

I just choose music follows my heart, there are many great musics in the world. And i would listen to it no matter who is the singer or what, but sometimes i found that i like the style of one singer and i always took to listen to it.It is such a great pleasure. So i always listen to the radio and always can find my favorite.

I like music when it can give some motivation. I like My Way (Frank Sinatra), Honesty (Billy Joel), One Moment in Time (Whitney Houston) and more... I hate if the lyrics can not be heard and can not be understood. Even Miracle (Bon Jovi) and some of Britney song is better than Lady Gaga..
