I know this is a little late & those of you who are my friends on facebook would already know...I have now been back in Mackay for 2 weeks...our stuff arrived from the movers on Tuesday just one. i am glad it's over but I am hating living with the huge pile of boxes...we're only unpacking the essentials as we plan n trying to find another house to rent first as this one is a little too small.

I hope you find soon the house of your dreams. I like houses where I can move easily because I have always been a bit clumbsy. Besides, havinfg half the house packed is very complicated as it always happenss that what you are looking for is in a box But let me wish you the best in your new-old homeland. Take care!

Thanks marguicha! i hate living packed like this but when we do find a house, it will make it easier to move as the majority of the stuff will still be packed

I really wish I had her power..we are staying at this house for at least 6 months now so i am trying to unpack & i am looking at it thinking where am I gonna start?? I know i won't unpack my books in 1 go...I am gonna try to read the ones I don't want to keep & give them away on freecycle when i have a few unwanted ones...other than that, I am at a loss.

I know. Packing uis worse than unpacking, I guess. It´s in those occations that I remember one of the TV shows I loved a long time ago: "Bewitched". I loved Smantha´s nose. SHE could do house work easily

Thanks Tina!! I hope I can find a house - rentals are hard to come by here in mackay. We are starting to save to buy a house too.

I have looked into the rent to buy & it is good but the only downer is that they can throw you out of the house if you miss 1 payment 7 there is no calling to negotiate like with the bank

Maybe saving to buy would be better than trying to rent one. Either way keep saving til you find something. Maybe you can find something rent to own that is also something worth checking into.

Thanks...turns out we are staying here for at least 6 months which is good because it's cheap rent & we can hopefully save more by staying on...now to unpack....

I hope you soon find a bigger house that is more suitable. Living and working round packing boxes is a nightmare, but no point unpacking them till you move again. Good luck with that. Why did you move to Mackay - hubby's job? I remember you saying something about it a while ago.

I saw it, thanks! Good luck with saving for a new house - that's the way to go, get out of the rental racket. Wish we could but not possible for us.

hi moonchild I havent seen you for awhile now I understand why. on the list of worst stresses is that of moving and getting a new mpb. I hate, hate, hate moving. So you are back in Mackay. sounds like the situation here rentals that one can afford are scarce, most are so high in Southern Calif. If you can finally buy a house that will be so good for all of you. I am so sorry we ever sold our house as we did it in the wrong period house rates were down to buy but to sell we just barely made it and ended up living in apartments. so good luck in finding a bigger rental and good luck in saving for a real house. hugs from hatley.

Thanks Hatley, we have found out that we can renew the lease here for at least another 6 months so hopefully in that time, we can save to buy a house or at least a block of land that will increase in value. I too hate moving...it's hard to find cheap rental accomodation here or any rental really because mackay is basically the gateway to the coal mines.

You better be finding a new and bigger house. It is not nice to live in a house where your movement is too limited. If you can afford a bigger one then go for it. Go after to what will make you comfortable and do not look at how much it is, that is considering that money is not an issue to you.
