I'm in a mood to get a little nutty this Sunday night. . Any one [or many] who has [have]heard this, please share your own perspective: Marriage is an institution in which the man loses his bachelor's degree and the woman gets her master's Is this a joke or a quote? Who is credited with having said this? Is this an universal truth? Nothing wrong though if the woman takes charge and the ensuing relief makes man blissfully happy. Pour out your woes & vibes.

I think what it means is that Man loses his bachelor's degree because he would spend lesser time with his friends since he has more important things to do as a married man and which he is also responsible to do some things to his partner. And the woman gets her master's in a way that most women are the one taking care of their children, do some household chores and a working mom too. It's actually how both partner would handle things and manage it well to still have time with their friends as well as having time with their family at the same in order to have a good relationship. :)

Hi lara. I admire your logical explanation!

Thanks Push for the admiration. Marriage is a very challenging one for both partners in so many ways but more marriages might survive if the partners realized that sometimes the better comes after the worse.

This is just afunny saying by someone. We have many such funny quotes like "Every Wife is a "Mistress" for her Husband. "Miss" for one hour & "Stress" for the rest 23 hours!"

I never heard of this expression so it can't be an universal truth. I only know and that is proved that married men do live longer (so it can't be that bad not to be a bachelor anymore). Married women live way shorter as the unmarried ones so if that is worth getting your master's ... Most women (world wide) are not in charge at all, they just carry all the burden, sorrows and responsibility on their shoulders.. I don't think that is the same.
