Hi Cathzuya, most of my friends are not Christians, and we do not celebrate the eve or the actual day. The only significant of the day is the huge discount offered by merchants. I like those chocolate on offers. After Christmas, we have to prepare for Chinese New Year. That day is very dear to us, and we tend to spend more.

Hi Cathzuya, some places do have countdown and partying into the night. But there is no special way to celebrate new year. Chinese New Year is very different. There are too many customs associated with Chinese New Year. For example, we cannot sweep the floor during the Chinese New Year, because we might sweep away the luck! We have to pray on the eve of Chinese New Year to send the protecting deities to heaven, so that they can rest, and enjoy their Chinese New year too. So many things and stories about it! It really is a most special day for us.

I don't work on Christmas, but my son does, for a few hours. He and his wife and baby and my other daughter will be here before noon so we can open gifts, then finish up and have a good Christmas dinner. I do the cooking for the most part, but they will each bring something to contribute. We usually just visit after eating; how long depending on their plans. Sometimes they have other places to go afterwards. I usually just take a nap after that!

my parents are gone now so I usually just stay home alone on Christmas Day, I am not really into the family thing on that day anymore so I don't like to spoil other peoples Christmas so I will probably spend the day with my Mylot friends.

why dont you visit some relatives on that day? they might be happier to celebrate xmas with you around. it's not necessarily mean spoiling other xmas if you do that. or ask some friends who don't want to stay at home.. or, yeah., you could celebrate xmas with people here. i'm sure lots of people have the same idea like yours. it also feels good communicating with your friends here.

I'll actually spend Christmas with family. That's how I plan spending Christmas. We'll exchange gifts, eat turkey, or something like that. We won't really do anything special. We'll just spend it together, as a family.

yes indeed. one more good thing about xmas is, when you never had a time with your family the whole year, but you never failed to visit during xmas day, just to celebrate the day even without doing anything special.

We will be spending the holidays at my in-laws house in Phoenix. we will be flying in on the 23rd and flying back to Illinois on the 30th. While we are there we will be driving down to Tuscon to see some friends who have moved there. We normally have a big breakfast and open presents in the morning. We went hiking two years ago on Christmas day. We play games, watch movies, listen to music.

Every year my family gets together with the family of a freind and we spend christmas eve together. We always do Secret Santa and have a very big dinner. After dinner we open our gifts and then they go home. Usuallu after this me and my brother go to another christmas party of a very close friend and family to spend the rest of the night.

For me just at our home and many things done in that night and prayed to Jehovah God that the date dec.25 is not the birth of Jesus Christ why you celebrate it is false time.

I usually spend my Christmas day together with my mother, sister and brother because I don't have a father now. We usually go outside and eat at the restaurant, we also go shopping.

Around my house, my mom tries to keep traditions going, so our Christmas Day actually starts the night before. When it gets night time, we pile into two vehicles and head to this park. At this park there are tons of festively lighted holiday decorations. Depending on how slow you creep threw the park, it can take a while to see all the decorations people have built (best part cost nothing to view). After we "oo" and "ah" over the beautiful decorations, we head to a special restaurant we go to every year at this time. Then we all come back to my parents house and sleep. On Christmas Day... Even though me and my brother are adults now, mom and dad still get up before we do to set up for the morning. Mom makes cocoa and cookies, while dad makes any last adjustments for the presents. After everyone is awake and moving around, we open presents and spend time reminiscing over past memories (mostly memories from the year that is passing)that are special to us. Then we all pile in the living room to watch a movie, and enjoy the same array of food mom prepares every year for Christmas. She makes a huge pot of meatballs and cocktails sausage in a yummy BQ sauce, with potato salad as a side dish. She has a variety of sweets (divinty, fudge, haystacks, egg custard, pecan pie, etc.)for dessert. After all this, we spend the rest of the day visiting with relatives. I'm looking forward to this Christmas because we got a new addition to our family, my nephew. He is a year old now, and will be his first Christmas he can participate in. I can't wait to see his face opening his presents for the first time (I know he is still too young to get the full grasp, but he gets so excited over experiencing new things. It's gonna be a fun moment to see him!)

I usually have my morning breakfast or lunch, depending on how my mum works with her, then I'm having another meal with my dad since they're separated..Rest of the day I usually spend with my friends just enjoying the holidays and in the evening I go out because there's always something interesting in town.

Hi,Christmas is not an official festival in China, so we don't free from work that day normally, but this year, Christmas falls on Sunday, so we can have free time on that day. As the westerner's coming into China, their cultures also are introduced into China. Of course, it includes Christmas and many other festivals such as father's day, mother's day. Actually, in young Chinese, the passion for those western festivals are more tense than for Chinese traditional festivals. I will be with my family members, and do some shopping, you know, there will be lots of activities in the shopping mall, as i said before, because more and more are accepting Christams, and the new year is coming, it must be bustling.

I mostly spend it alone, long sleep, pajama's day (love that), no cooking, not being forced to go out, watching all the old movies I love to see again. These days (dec. 25 and 26) are the most relaxing days of the year. This year I will be in Africa since I get married. They don't celebrate it there so I guess I can do the same except for watching the movies.
