Eating pizza by the slice or with a knife and fork?

Hello my fellow pizza enthusiasts!
I was just wondering, when you eat pizza, do you pick it up by the slice or do you prefer to use a knife and fork? For me it depends on the type of pizza. When I order from Pizza Hut or Dominoes or any other take-away type place, I don't think it would be the same if I didn't pick up a slice with my hands. It just completes the experience for me.
However when I make my own pizzas, I prefer to use a knife and fork because it makes it feel more like a proper meal to me, and it allows me to savor each bite that much more. Have you noticed this? Eating pizza bite by bite seems to add to the flavor, but maybe it's just me. Let me know your thoughts!

I eat all of the pizzas I have by handed. I find it silly Tobit it up when it's finger food meant to be eaten won your hands. But if that I what someone likes to do I won't fuss at then about it. Thy can eat a pizza what ever way they want.

Yeah it's bit odd but if you'd hav kids your us to cutting things up all of the time. Even finger food.

I eat it by the slice and folded. Guess I am still a New Yorker at heart. Wish I had a few slices now!

I have enjoyed eating a lot of pizza in my lifetime. i was never one to eat pizza with a knife or fork though. I was always hands on with my slice of pizza. It just doesn't seem right to have to use utensils to enjoy eating pizza.

I guess, most of the Pizza eaters most likely prefer to use their bare hands when eating it because of the reason that it's more comfortable that way than using with anything that just makes it looks fancy but in order for one to get the real eating style of a pizza, then i'd suggest just be natural using your clean hands. Lol :-)

hello~ of course, if it's not slice yet i use the knife and fork. but actually for me it depends upon the person im eating with and depends on the dining location. but when i eat pizza at home, im more comfortable and i enjoy my pizza by picking it up by the slice with my hands.

I totally agree, it all depends on the location and how comfortable we are in the situation we are in. That's interesting that you choose a knife and fork if it isn't sliced. I sometimes like to just rip pieces of the pizza off when it's like that.

Eating pizza by the slice is a bit like eating fish and chip out of the paper, once upon a time fish and chips here in Australia used to be wrapped up in newspaper until that was stopped due to health regulations, but fish and chip still tase better out of the paper and I think pizza is better by the slide, mind trick maybe but I like it that way.

To me it all depends on the size and type of pizza. It it is pan pizza and the slices are too big, I'd rather just use pork and knife so it won't be messy. But if they are thin crust pizzas and slices are smaller, I'd pick a slice by the hand and enjoy biting it. Whatever way provided the pizzas are rich with mozzarella and tastes good, I'd enjoy every bite of it.

I only ate pizza with knife and fork once, when I and my friends went to a cachet restaurant that was truly expensive. We paid 60 dollars for every pizza, and since the place was so fancy we had no option, but to do as the others and eat it with fork and knife. I felt really awkward and I just wanted to hold the slice on my fingers and give it a huge bite.

depend on where i am having the pizza
if its home, its simple by my hands holding the pizza right in the hands. and if am eating out, obviously i have to behave better and use cutlery then my own hands.

For me ,it depends upon the situation or the place and people i am eating with.
I once attended a bidding with my superiors and the bidding is in a five star hotel with the ex presidents wife and their family.We were serve with lots of food and one of those are different kinds of pizza.As much as i want to pick it up with my bare hands,i ended up using knife and fork.Surely they will all stare at me if i did otherwise.
But when i am eating with my family and friends i can eat pizza without the help of a knife just to make us all comfortable and makes eating a lot of fun.

The first time i ever seen somebody eating pizza with a fork and knife was when i had started dating this african male. Our first eating out together experience was at a pizza place. I thought it was odd. I asked him about it later and i guess he had the idea that it was always proper to eat everything with utensils in america. I asked if he did that with fried chicken too. We laughed and i told him some foods that is not true such as pizza and chicken.
If i make homemade pizza sometimes my crust isnt as stiff as the pizza places in that case i will cut it in smaller pieces for easier handling.

When I eat pizza I use a knife and fork. I eat very fast and am always trying to slow down and not gain weight. Eating it with your hands seems to be much faster, at least for me.

lol...you made me to think what I do..It depends on my mood.sometimes I eat it with my hand and sometimes I eat with fork and knife. No specific reason.

WOAH! Pizza is NOT pizza if you eat it with a knife and a fork... :/ Then its just like every other meal out there! My mom does this and it irritates me because for one night a month, she can't just relax and eat like humans were meant to eat: Hand to mouth.
In my opinion, eating it by hand makes it taste better, almost like you're doing soething you shouldnt be... :D
