End of End of the world

The Mayan Calendar is nearly over. The world is nearing its end, 2012. What should we do? Let's buy a new Mayan calendar to end it. Seriously, I thought the fuss was over 'til a friend brought it up one day. He literally asked me of my plans to save myself when "The End of Days" come. I was like "Seriously? Don't you have a laundry to pick up?" Whoever brought this up in the first place should have his screws checked, coz seriously, his important one is missing. I don't blame gullible people, they have benefits in the long run. Although they're the type to fall for this "End of the world" cr@p so it's a bother for people like me who nudge them back to the right direction.

I don't think that the world is going to end in 2012 because of the mayan calendar. There was so much when the world was suppose to end with all the y2k thing that was going on. I do believe that with global warming and all the things going on with our planet that the weather will definitely continue to get worse. But our planet will not be destroyed.

We share the same beliefs. I'd rather watch Spongebob in spanish than hear about this "end of the world" nonsense.

Well, some said that it's not the end of the world as portrayed in the movie 2012. They said "the world will never be the same", I don't know what that meant.

It surprises me that so many people get worked up about this when they realize all that didn't happen with the Y2k. And I don't know why they are basing all of this on a Mayan calendar. I just feel bad for those who get really worked up about. There are a lot of individuals who really do think the world is going to end in 2012. The earth itself isn't in that bad of a condition for people to be able to say that it is going to be destroyed in 2012. It just doesn't make sense.

When I first moved to MO this guy we met an ex preacher kept telling everyone that the end of days was 2012. One day I asked him if he could prove it he said that the Mayan calendar was his proof. I have tried to tell him to listen to a preacher I know so he could learn the real truth about Gods word and he could learn that no one knows when the end will come. http://www.shepherdschapel.com/index.htm It is our duty to God to try and bring people back to the right way Gods way. But not wise to cast pearls before swine in other words if you try to get them to listen and they won't then wipe off the dust of your feet and leave them be about what they think. Seriously I think I will wait on what the bible says and leave everything in the hands of God.

Yep. Plus, end of days shouldn't be anticipated, right? We should just live our lives and forget about the whole fuss. It's not gonna do them any good, anyway.

We should always look learn and listen to the news we are supposed to be watchmen of the end times just not trying to predict when it will happen. When it does happen we will all know because we will be changed into our spiritual forum. There will be a man come and land in Jerusalem claiming to be god but he will be the anit christ saying he has come to fly us away. But we should know he is the false christ because we will still be in human forum. Be wiser then the serpent he will come in peaceful and prosperously he won't be killing people or causing harm to them when we are delivered up in front of him no one would believe he is the true christ if he kills or harms people. So be watchful of the current events that are going on.

Hi frontvisions Well, on the lighter sides... Why do you think that the Mayan Calendar was crap? If you say that the channels, media and all say so... well, werent they the ones who got us all thinking and pondering on this issue at the first place End of world or not, we dont know for certain and it will happen when it has to. Some people realize that and move on... while some dont (good for them... at least they will have so many things to complete as they know when it all ends)

The Mayans' prophecy is being considered "true" because they're ancient people. People which others believe to be visited by "aliens". Personally, I find this to be more of a children's bedtime story. It's something that can lure your interest, but at the same time, give you doubts. Apparenty, there are more doubts than interest that circles my mind regarding this.

And what's the proof about Mayan Calendar being true especially with the prediction that the world is about to end?... Would everyone who believed in Mayan Calendar will throw that beliefs if this year passed without nothing ever happens? Another cr*p...false prophecy - I wonder when all those people stopped believing false predictions! Sorry...but the end will surely come...but no one can ever predict or say when is the right time!

I have not done detailed investigations on the fateful day of 21 December 2012, according to Mayan prophecy, would seal the end of the world. From what little I've read though, for example on wikipedia, it seems there is no scientific evidence of this catastrophic event. At that time missing just little more than a year exactly, so as long as I want to document myself more on this matter.

You should just investigate on different matters, like how to pick up chics in less than a minute. It will give your work more chances of getting recognized.

Perhaps your friend should continue reading a bit more about the Mayan and their words. It's said: the world as we know it will end and it will never be the same. To my opinion this has nothing to do with a big bang!

Really? The Mayans said that? Maybe the world will only be re-coloured. Maybe then we'll be getting blue plants and red sands.

Oh I don't even find this stuff entertaining anymore. There is a guy who comes in the store whose son in law is Mayan. He says the Mayans think it is funny that people think that just because their calendar stopped that the world will end. They just stopped writing it is all. Not saying that the world could not end because it could. Still, it'll happen when it happens if it happens. Nothing we can do about it. Stressing over it does no good so I don't even pay attention to these things.

Hi frontvision, The end of the world came up several times but has not ended literally. I doubt or I had my doubt from the very beginning that it was merely a calender and perhaps there were none to carry it further and might be they lost everything in the war. Actually no such soothsaying has come true. Though we are one and half months short of the deadly day but I feel nothing of that sort would come upon.

The thing is, anybody can pick up some random stuff from the past and link it to the end of the world. It's pretty easy, all you need is the ability to type, and the internet.

I pity those people who are having panicky feelings regarding this false prediction "again" yes again...duh! False prophets coming everywhere proclaiming so confident that the world will end on this and that date...and where are they now? Gosh...the world end since 1970 when one church leader predicted it and ask all the followers to give their money and wealth to that church because the world is about to end....cr*p!
• Philippines

Yep, they're everywhere, alright. I predict the prediction of the end of the world will never end.

I am still young and there are many like me, who are yet to live their lives. See how this world looks, but if the world will end so soon, what will happen with us? I want to live atleast for some more like 10 years. Also I don't think there will be any thing to happen in December 2012, this is just the calender. I have a very old cell phone on which the calender is ending on December 2018 this doesn't mean the phone will be destroyed or of no use.
• Philippines
13 Dec 11
If your phone has an ending date of 2018, that must mean it's immune from the Mayan calendar.

I think mankind as a whole have made amazing developments in scientific as well as religious knowledge after the time of Mayans. So I don't believe the end of the world on that day. Some analysts say it indicates a total spiritual change of humankind by that day. At the same time I expect more earthquakes in coming few years bringing uneasiness to humankind.

If we really value life, we should pray to God. We shouldn't just believe in such stupid prophecies. This is clearly bullsh!t.

The Mayan calendar - as my brother, being one who is interested in reading and watching about these things, told me that there is no such thing as End of the World. It has been mistaken. What it actually says was 2012 will be the End of Ages. If my memory serves me right, we are currently in the Age of Pisces and by December 21, 2012 a new age will start. That is the Age of Aquarius.

Don't really believe in the Mayan calendar, just love watching documentaries about it, and get their views why they think about the end of days by 2012, when is it again? I'm sure I'll be doing my daily routines by that day and by the next day I would surely say "So how did "your" world end?"

I also cant believe about all this fuzz about the world going to it's end just because the Mayan's races calendar is at its ending dates. To all we know it might go back to the starting date as how it is suppose to be read.

I think it's just like any other calendar. As the year ends, we should buy a new one. We shouldn't panic when our 2011 calendar ends, that's stupid.

Well if your a religious person & you read the Bible, most especially the book of Revelation then you know that the end of the world is getting closer every day. But that being said no one knows when exactly that day will be. Jesus while on earth said that day would come upon us like a thief in the night. When the rest of the world is saying "Peace, Peace" that's a sign of when the end will come. But like I said, no one knows the day nor the year when that will happen. Jesus who is the son of God said that not even he knows when that day will be, only the Father/God knows. So it's good that we should be prepared for such a day, but we can't possibly know when that day will be. Keep in mind though that back in Noah's day they refused to listen to Noah too. In fact they all thought he was crazy. They went about their daily lives without a care in the world & then you remember what happened? The flood came & all of them that did not listen were destroyed.

I don't read the bible daily but I'm pretty sure they don't have dams then, thus, caused the flood. Seriously though, I still don't believe in the end of the world. I go to mass every Sunday (missed some recently) but I still can't get myself to believing the world will end next year. I'll probably just sleep on it.

I don’t want to buy a Mayan calendar, seems like a lot of analphabetism to me. They were rude to me too when I went on vacation there last year and on top of that someone asked me if I was a virgin and wanted me to lie down. No way. While I was going up the stairs (no elevator) I came across this ... inscription 13.13.13.13.13.13.13.13.9.15.13.6.9 3 Muluc 17 Mac. I knew then they were trying to sell me something. So I left.

I have to agree with you. No one, and I mean absolutely no one knows when the world is going to come to an end. It's 2000 all over again. If I am not saved already, I'm in real trouble.

Yep. I guess when that day comes, I'll still be doing my routine. If the world ends, then it ends. It's not like we can escape to a different planet.

I don't really believe in the mayan calendar. There's nothing like that in the Bible. The Bible says the Absolute truth. No one really knows when is the right time. Those who believe in this should be corrected.
