Helping others

As I sit here surfing on MyLot, counting my blessings of being able to see another Christmas day, the thought enters my mind of how people will go above and beyond to help someone or families on this day. I do think this is a admirable trait but what bothers me is we don't see more of this type of behavior on "regular" days. People need help everyday. If we could just find a way to make this type of thought an "everyday" thought there would be less suffering in the world. Just my thought.

I agree that people need help every day - hopefully not the same people every day, but every day someone out there is in need of assistance. It would be nice if more people helped out on a more regular basis. However, if some people only choose to help out during the holiday season, then I think that is still a good thing, because at least they are doing good every year, and that does make a difference, in my opinion.

I agree....sometimes once a year is better than not at all.

I agree, there are a lot of people who are not good people year round, who try to act as if they are saints on Christmas. there should be more people helping others constantly instead of on just one day of the year, as you said, there wuld then be less suffering around the world, as well as more joy and happiness :)

There are a lot of wonderful kind people in the world, some of them here on Mylot! I believe that this crowded and frenetic world has a real chance to be a better place. We just need to be less wrapped up in our own little lives and more aware of making life better for all! Blessings!

Yes we should be kind and helpful to others. There so many people around us who are not blessed in one way or other, we should try to help them in what ever way possible.
