I never check on the expiration date on milk carton

I did get a really bad stomach on Saturday night, due to my drinking of expired milk in the fridge. The expiration was on Jan 4, and I never check on it I guess. I usually finish a carton of milk within one and half week, and probably this one took me longer than I expected. After such pain in my stomach pass, I check on the suspects, and it was the milk, instantly I toss it to the trash can. The same for me, I rarely check on the expiration on all the drinks and can foods. A valuable lesson I just learned.

Now that was not a smart thing to do. You should always look at the expiration dates on any kind of food that you buy. I always do. And you should go through your fridge every once in a while and clean it out.

It's a good thing you were able to check on what really caused your upset stomach, my friend. But then, you can tell from the taste of a milk if it's already not good. It tastes sour and smells different already. I bought a carton of fresh milk for our daughter last month. The expiration was still on the next week. But when my daughter tried drinking it, she said it already tastes bad to her. But when i tasted it , it wasn't. But husband said to just throw it away and we bought a new one. What a waste of money!

One time,I had bought a coca cola that was out of date in supermarket. When I drunk,I didn't feel right and then I found that the expiration of the coca cola was out of date.Dame it!Since then,I check the expiration of goods firstly when I want to buy or use it.

Gee that is something I never do, I guess I put too much trust in the shop keepers, I think I had better start checking in future.

We usually finish a carton of milk before the expiration date. What I have a problem with is many times when I go buy a carton of eggs I forget to check if any of them are broken. The thing is, most of the time. i get away with it because I'll mopen it up when I get home andit just so happens none of them are broken. A few weeks I opened up up the carton and one of them was broken. I felt it was easier to just throw it away then go back out because it was just one.

Sorry you had to learn your lesson a hard way. A day or two on dairy is ok but milk yeah you don't fool with that one.

When my older son was 3 years old, I had a similar incident with my son. He doesn't like to drink milk so much, but I always force him. Normally he would just ask to drink it later (thinking I'll forget about it), but this one time he was complaining that it didn't taste so good. Only when he complained about a stomach ache that I realized that what he drank was already expired. That taught me a lesson to check milk expiration dates all the time.

Yes good to know what you are drinking. Tummy can be affected in bad ways. I knew this elderly man he had trouble with digestion and treated it with a yogart type solution where he put sour milk and it generated culture that was actually good. It was but I can't stand sour milk though either on its own. Feels like being upside down in space station.

I always check on the carton for the date, because I had once a virus. I drank expired milk and that was a horrible experience. I was in hospital for 4 weeks, and after that I was exhausted and everything. So always check the date on the carton!

Hello, kingparker. Milk around my place goes so fast, it is really pointless to look at dates. I did when I lived alone years ago, but now it is like groceries are bought, and BOOM, gone. KRAZEE FAST!!! Have a good day. :) :)

It's good that no terrible harm happened to you.. we used to eat or drink food that we didn't even know that it is already expired.. the good thing was nothing happens to us.. but after seeing the product I immediately throw it away.. Just be careful next time..

Part of what I did around the house this weekend was to pitch things that have expired.....also found a few things in the refridge that were moldy....I threw out the old flour and sugar and bought new...no sense getting ill from it...sorry you got a stomach ache! That's not fun at all!
