Travel to your office by bike

Today,I got up at 7.50am,so it means I missed the regular bus to my office ,so what should I do? To take a taxi , no,it is meanless for me, because it will take me all my salary in one day. so I choose to go to work by bike ,although it is winter in china and very cold.I am not a talktive person ,usually I will keep silence during the bus time and look the winter scenery outsite ,so today is a better chance for me to get to closer to the nature.it is foggy and still you can see the small building indistinctly in the fields.listen to the music through ear phone ,see the soft rime on the tree!!I have not feel so good for a long time! I still remember ,A Denmark friend said in Denmark 1/3 of population will go to work by bike and 1/2 of Copenhagen population ,although almost evry family has car,it is a kind of habbitand custom, no matter in winter or summer. Although it took me 30minutes to my office,I like the way of working ,if I have time ,I will try more.haha!!!

I used to live in a village two miles from a rural train station and three to four miles from two city train stations: east and west. I had to cycle on my bike to the rural train station and take a train to Dover. Then I changed to another train to go to a town further along the coast. I cycled from that station to the school I worked in. There was a bus but it didn't arrive early enough. For another teaching post I had to cycle from my village to another village six miles away. It was a rural ride along cycle paths and down country lanes. I cycled through one of the most picturesque villages. There wasn't a bus and the journey wouldn't have been possible by train. I stayed very fit and healthy. Now I drive my car because I passed my practical driving test in 2010. You did well to go to work by bike.

Yes, I am a primary school teacher. I had a particular teacher when I was ten to eleven years old. Funnily enough years later in my early thirties I taught at a school and he was the joint deputy head. It is also funny you are working with your middle school English teacher. I don't think that the deputy head remembered me but I remembered him. My sister knew him too and it made her laugh. Yes, it is an interesting thing.

And even if you rode to work a couple of days you would be getting some great exercise and saving alot. If you want to save for a car this would be a good way of doing so. Good luck to you!

That really is a good idea for travel for you. You are saving a lot of money from not taking the taxi everyday and plus you are getting quite a good workout for your legs. I think it really is a good idea to ride your bike to work when the weather is nice. I know it really isn't safe if you have to ride in the road with cars. So many people ride their bikes on the sidewalk.

Hello, I am glad that you enjoyed your journey to the office. I ride a bike to work most days and I really find it to be a relaxing way to begin the day, not to mention that it is cheaper than bus or car and also a good excercise. The only time I am bothered by riding my bike is when it is raining.

I actually think that's great! I changed jobs last year which brought me closer to home. Last summer, I bought a bike which I took going to the office. I think it was a good exercise. I just stopped this season because winters here means lots of rain. But I will pick it up again when it's not raining so much.

There were a couple of associates of mine at work who ride a bike to work, which might save a lot of gasoline consumption, along to exercise more on the way to work. Although it is cold, it is a great way to train yourself, and beef up your body if you live closer. I would do the same if I live closer to work too.

Denmark is the country where the most people use the bike but as close second it is the Netherlands. In The Netherlands and in denmark you always see people on bike and ther are some very good special roads for bikes. On the primary school we had to do a bike test twice because everyone came to school by bike also the most teacher came to school by bike.

I wonder if I can do that here. My office is 12 kilometers away from my house. I would be traversing bothersome intersections and would be dealing with all the smoke coming from the vehicles and plus the scorching heat here in Manila. Maybe I should find a way to carry my bike to the office and do the biking on the way home so the trip will be hassle free.

Hello, lightrain! That's great! Here in the Philippines, more and more people are using motorcycle to go to work. I had few officemates who always rode their motorcyle in going to work because it's faster and cheaper. They say that if they are going to drive their car, they will spend a lot for its gasoline. I think I was also seeing some whose using bicycle. Bicycle is the best, isn't it? There is no gasoline needed. It's also safer, or shall I say the safest?

yes!!some of my friends they also take motorcycle ,especially in summer , it is very cool in summer I think you must know, but in china it is winter now ,very cold outside .so just as you said it is more better if we use bike.most of our chinese are taking electric bike to their office ,it seems more popular than bike and motorbike!!!
