I am sure some of you have heard that song by Miranda Lambert "The House That Built Me". For those of you who have not I am sure you can still relate. So many people grow up in a house and make so many memories in them of your childhood then once we become of age we move out and start our own family. just recently I have moved and where I live now is the next street over from where I grew up! Every time I see that house I remember all of those great times and memories I have made there. I want so badly to just knock on the door and ask if I can come in and see the house. Life throws us so many challenges that we are faced to overcome that sometimes we miss being a kid! Have you ever felt this way or remembered your old house and wanted to go see it?

My parents moved quite often when I was a child and I have lived in many different houses, but there is one house that I especially remember from my childhood. When I was selling the magazines from the lung association I walked from door to door, and I also visited one of the houses where I used to live. It was a strange feeling to see the house again and the front yard looked very different today. I was very curious to see the house from the inside as well, but I only got a glimpse of the hall when the new owner opened the door

Since I turned 18 I have lived in 5 different places. I still find myself when I drive by looking at my old house and seeing the differences. I always wondered what it looked like but never got to see. Not yet anyways.

It is hard for me to listen to that song. It strikes a chord with me too.

hi amanda for me it was the farm and farm house that built me and I often think in my old age of growing up free to roam the large farm and all the trees and the fruit orchards. the memories of growing up on a farm.We had a wrap around porch that had big windows specially built that hooked up on the ceiling during hot summer days.we often slept out on that porch during South Dakota heat waves. I learned to love gardening as we raised all our own fresh veggies and fruits too. Even milk and cheese our cows supplied for usl.growing up on a farm makes a girl wise in home making, cooking, cleaning, all the things that girls raised in big cities do not always learn.I was self sufficent when I met and married my husband to be. He and I were both good cooks and good house cleaners too. lol lol

I was talking to my mom a couple of weeks ago, and we got to talking about the house that I grew up in. She said that she sold that house about 8 years ago, and she said she's glad that she did (she used to rent it out), because it got totalled as it recently got flooded. I would have loved to go in for one last time, and spend a moment or two in the room me an my brother shared.

Its crazy how things happen. The house i grew up in my mom still owns it but she is renting it out at the moment. I am sure the new renters would allow me to go in but I wouldnt want to leave. I see it when the windows are open and it is nice in there
