Today is a bad luck day!

When I look at the today's date, I just realized that it is Friday, and it is also the 13th of the month. It is Friday the 13th. For people who are superstitious, they will think that today is a bad luck day, and all the bad luck will fall on them on this day.
I am more a believer on facts and proof, so I don't really believe in such a things, It is just another normal day for me. I will say today is a better and safer day because fewer accident will happen because people are preventively more careful or prefer to just stay home. 
How about you? Do you think that today is a bad luck day for you? I do know that people who believe in such a things will do something to prevent bad luck, so, do you believe in it and what prevention will you do so that bad luck won't fall on you?

For me Friday the 13th is Good Luck ! Apparently those born in February, particularily on the 12th will be having 365 days of good luck beginning this Friday the 13th !
I think many people have their "Bad Luck" this day because of superstion and they are nervous and tense all day creating an atmosphere of negativity. If you are expecting something bad to happen, chances are it will. Go out - enjoy the day! Stay Positive !

Hi Amethyst,
That is quite true, since negative thinking will attract negative "Chi" (In Chinese, "Chi" having the meaning of atmosphere), so bad luck will follow. . So, thinking and believe is important to determine how your day going to be. 
Something I just can't get you is why those born in February and on the 12th will have 365 days of good luck and beginning from this Friday the 13th? I am curious to know.

That is what my daily horoscope lady told me in my email. LOL! She probably sent the same to all the other signs as well, but it is my faith for my winning lottery ticket. Most Friday 13ths' have been lucky for me - so I am expecting this one will be especially true. Crossing fingers and toes.

Friday the 13th is just the name of a day and a number given to the day so we can keep track of time and make arrangements with other people for business and other reasons. The name and number is totally unrelated to any events that may or may not happen. Certainly luck is a factor in ones life but while one can affect that by careful management of ones life things like good luck charms and certain actions such as making the sign of a cross or throwing salt over your shoulder have no affect at all.

From my understanding, you are trying to tell that life is fixed and if something going to happen, it will happen, no matter what you did like using good luck charms or doing something to avoid it. I think that is quite true, since we cannot control many things that happen in life especially about luck. If we can control luck, many would have won lottery ticket everyday.

Read it again I did not say life was fixed in fact is said you can alter things by careful management. What I am saying is linking totally unrelated things and pretending they have some affect on each other such as saying "breaking a mirror brings bad luck" is just nonsense

I'm not a supersitious person, but I did have a bloody bad day yesterday (01/13/2012), esp during my working hours. I were screwed terribly by my customers which was not my fault. I had no idea what to believe in, or how to prevent it. For me, to avoid bad luck is always be cautious and plan one step ahead in everything we doing...

I think bad luck is in everyones mind.If you think about it ,then it will happend.Just be positive and trust to God,makes your day better.My parents do believe in it,and they also teach us about that,but their is nothing to lose too if we believe,prevention is better than cure

This is totally a very bad day for me, the worst one.
I don't actually believe on Friday the 13th, but now, I think I do now. I have seen the bad lucks from the start of my day..with the deals with the taxi driver, with my uniform being wet by the rain, with my previous account in here and with that miracle I am waiting....
I mean, that's all enough for me to be that so sad...and I really want to cry because I am so helpless.
Anyways, I know I need to start a new one,...I have to.

I am really hopeful about that. I am actually a very pessimistic person so I am having the hard time to cope up with all of it.
I guess there are really times where all you experience are all bad luck. I was wishing it wasn't that bad but it is....I really need to cope up and just divert myself so that I won't remember it...

Nothing bad happened but hey, better safe than sorry right?
I am a naturally clumsy person so on Friday the 13th's, I'll probably wear some flats or sandals to avoid any nasty falls.

Well, it has a very good advantage like people will be very careful because they are really scared that the bad luck will fall to them. right? I believe in it because today me and my boyfriend had a war and it is really extreme right now I dont want to talk to him because I was really mad at him. It is like I dont want him anymore. I never knew that it was Friday the 13th, I just realize that when I got home and my cousin told me. My boyfriend and I already quarreled.

For me, no i don't think friday the 13th is a bad day. And actually it has been a pretty good day for me today :) And actually 13 has always been a lucky number for me so I don't have any negative thoughts of the number 13 and actually it is also a favourite number of mine. I think it just depends on people's beliefs.

Hi, this is a superstition being followed in western.. in our country we don't see any of the day/date as a bad or good which brings good luck or bad luck. But yes, we believe if a cat crosses your path, something bad may happen.LOL

Yeah, it is more people believe in this in the western countries. We here too do not have a specific good or bad day. But there are some people may choose a specific day for doing something important like wedding or move into a new house.
But if bad luck when a cat cross your path, that might be happen everyday here, because there are many cats at the place I stay.

When I was young I used to believed on that. And wait for some bad things to happen. Just wanna see if there is any truth on it. But then as I grow older, I never believed on it. I can be in a bad situation in a day even if it's not Friday the 13th. And I can be lucky too even if it's Friday the 13th!

Don't you guys know, that the 13th of Friday myth is based on history? That in Friday, 13 October 1307, King Philipe IV of France, arrested mass of Knight Templars, and tortured and killed them! Thats why 13 Friday thoughts as a bad luck!

Actually I haven't realized that today is the Black Friday until I read your post here. So you can see that I don't believe it at all. It is just another day. Besides, it is Friday and soon we can have a break off work. Isn't it great?:)

Yeah, today is Friday, so tomorrow will be an off day! Yeah! but wait, tomorrow I have to work to replace one day on the Chinese New Year.... But I will have a long whole week holiday during the Chinese New Year!
I think the younger generation do not believe in such a superstitious things as compare to the older generation.

hi yspmyl I am going to make an appt to see my doctor tomorrow Friday the 13th as I am not getting over the flu and bronchitis but I am not a bit superstitious so it will mot bother me. all that
bothers me is that I am really sick.here in the US its still Thursday the 12th of January so tomorrow is the bad luck day. it has never been bad luck for me so am not concerned about that at all .

For me, it is better to be not superstitious than superstitious. Because if you are superstitious, you will be worried about many thing and probably will think about all the bad things. And like most of the people said, if you keep thinking about the bad things, you will probably attracting the bad things. So, we should be positive thinking all the time.
I hate to get flu, it make me feel tired.

I'm not superstitious either. Even if something unfortunate happened, I wouldn't blame it on Friday the 13th. It's just another day.

Even I don't know, what day is today......I just know right now. Ha ha ha, I never think about it.
Many people here, that Friday 13th is sacred number....I don't know what it means. I just like you, this day just like another normal day...But, in my religion (Koran), Friday is good day.....and tell that the end of the day will coming on Friday.

Not to start a feud with anybody, but what's up with determining if a day will be a lucky or unlucky? People die everyday, something bad happens to random people everyday- wouldn't that mean that it was their "unlucky" day? Furthermore, the tragedies that happen recently (like the Typhoon Sendong) didn't necessarily happen on an "unlucky" day, was it? But it was definitely an unfortunate day for the victims.
So my point is, luck will not determine if something good or bad will happen. There are unforseen and unexpected things that can bring about good or bad results to anyone on any given day.

What you said is also quite true, accident happen everyday, and only peoples who involved in it or so call the victim will consider the day as a unlucky day for them.
Things are unexpected and unforeseen, so, we need to be always alert all the time, so that we can avoid some unnecessary accident or so call unlucky to fall on us on any particular day.

Today is the 13th friday and various people believe that today is the day of bad luck,bad fortune.as for my opinion that only can superstitious person believe that matter.your luck fall in down or rise in up every moment,every second,every minute of life. so it is not right to mark a specific time or day that your fortune will not support you. in modern times this type of view can't applicable.
