Happiness rightway!! Right? then why i have hardly met a rich person happy with his life but there are so many poor guys always having a smile on their face.. Isnt the ultimate goal everyone wants to achieve is happiness?? Dint you ever felt so nice to talk to an auto-driver,, and compare him to talking to a CEO of some company and you will imagine a rude human everyone is scared of.. Well generally i mean.. Humans are just too selfish, greedy to realise what they really need!! Happiness is the ultimate goal.. Have your say guys..

The happines is he ultimate goal, I agree. However it is always connected to something. Otherwise it would just be a flood of endorphins in your brain that would eventually lead to some disease : ). I would rather have some things that will make me happy naturaly, like a wonderful girlfriend, money, great friends, good looks, intelligence etc. "Happines rightaway" said the doctor as he slowly did my daily endorphin shot... - That's what I thought of after reading this topic : ).

no idea what endorphin is and am assuming you didnt make fun of what i said but my point is people are so busy running after money that they forget that the money is useless if you are not happy.. and exactly what i meant, nice gf and friends are more important than money!! I agree you need a decent income for sustainability but the rich trying to become richer forgetting how to be happy is a curse!!

Money does not necessarily cause happiness because happiness is a state of mind. I have also spoken to some poor people who are very much contented with their lives as opposed to affluent people who keep cribbing about what they do not have. Regarding making a choice, everyone would want to be happy but people would not like to be poor because abject poverty robs one of peace[when you do not know whether you are going to get your next meal how cana person jump and sing around?]. If you are talking of people who are very rich and despite that they are unhappy it is because they have high expectations which they are unable to meet. I will choose happiness over money . But as I said earlier, without money for basic needs it is not possible to survive.

This is true, I also believe that some happiness is needed for mental stability necessary to maintain survival. A good laugh is at times the best medicine and that carries a pretty big message. At times, you just need that lift-me-up to have the get-up-and-go to maintain yourself. But yes, you do of course need some money to live on, that is a given.

Probably, the people who are rich but not happy is because they are not good with money. They know they are either making all this money or have all this money so they charge things, buy new cars, sometimes expensive cars, all kinds of toys, go out to restaurants two or times a week spending who knows how much and all those things added up together, add up so they have finacial problems, maybe house payments or car payments that are adding up to it so it adds stress. In the mean time, poor people know they have no money so they eat at home. they may have had a car payment, but when it paid off they continue to drive it as oppsed to buying a new one. And who knows what their cable bills and cell phone bills look like? I have a 1993 Saturn. You think I don't want a newer car? We keep our thermostat at 60 degrees in the winter and just wear sweaters. I would love to be rich. But to me, rich is $35,000 a year. Another note. many people who live poor actually have money because they live poor. therefore, if there are any unexpected expenses it's no problem. It all comes down to what you have probably heard alot the last few years: Live BELOW your means!

I would definitely choose happiness over money. There's definitely no doubt about that. I don't think that money is everything. Sure, it does help provide for our basic needs, but it can't buy everything.

Everybody wants to chose the happiness. But do you think that it's right to oppose the happiness to the money? You say that rich people are bad guys and poor ones are good and happy. I don't agree with this. There are rich people with good hearts and people who struggle to survive and are mean.

Happiness, vary in every people. They have their own qualifications for happiness. For me, simple things makes me happy. Looking at the night sky, or mountain, or sea, or children playing, makes me happy. You have to look deeper. And yeah about money? this could make you happy too. Because you can buy things. But there are just people who are so greedy and selfish. Money will only make me happy if i will give it to the needy.

I would chose happiness every time, money has never ruled my life, it is nice to have enough to buy some things you want but I don't think being rich makes you happy, I just like to be comfortable and pay my bills and i am happy.

To be honest, I choose money. It's not like being greed or anything but I believe that we need sufficient money to live. Then it will eventually lead to happiness. Being poor doesn't totally make you happy nor being rich either. It's how you use them will decide whether you will be happy or not. Maybe you won't agree with me but we do need them to pay bills and food to live on.

its not always true that the poor people in this world are the happiest people around. i have seen on television a mother holding her baby with a hole in his heart asking for donations for the treatment of her sick child. there is absolutely no happiness expressed in her face at all only intense grief and sorrow. if only she had all the money in the world to pay for the very expensive treatment to save the life of her beloved son she would probably be the happiest among us don't you think? its easy to say that money only brings unhappiness and the ultimate goal is happiness but how do you go about being happy then?

Welcome to MyLot. We all want what we haven't got, right? I'll just take the money & run! I'm thinking that the poor guy with the smile on his face would likely do the same! By the way... how much money are we talking here?

Sorry but I don't agree that there are so many poor people with a smile on their face. I only meet poor people who are very unhappy, have a lot of stress because they don't know where to get the money from to buy food for that day. The smile is just fake, frequently learned, even used to beg, borrow money (never paying back), making you feel quilty or just fooling themselves and telling themselves there are always people who have less. If you really think it makes you happy to tell yourself each day again it can be worse (the situation you are in) because if you look at your neighbour.. you are so wrong. It's demotivating and each time you have to find an other excuse to keep yourself satisfied. If all those poor smiling people you talk about were for real bad economics would be not so bad at all. The whole world was smiling now! Give me richdom a lot of money and I will show you my big smile and how many other people I can make smile for real!

Hm, you don't seem so certain on this. I will say this, do not hold off on happiness just at the promise of money, even a little joy is worth a lot in our gloomier modern world. It is crucial for relief of stress and mental health. In ways, some happiness is needed to function, and not break down from pressure. So, I suppose, in a way, happiness is necessary to function enough to make the money in the first place.

True happiness is a thing which in itself cannot be bought by money alone but achieved only within one's own self. Happiness also should not be confused with satisfaction, that is, which derives from a sense of accomplishment or received worth, though these can lead to happiness. Happiness in and of itself can come from appreciation of life and living well. Things that can bring happiness too are friends, family, health, and so forth. All-in-all, I do value happiness higher than money because as the world gets a bit gloomier, the worth of a good sense of joy grows higher and far rarer. Is good to have money, but without happiness... is it really worth it? I think not... These are my thoughts, at least.

haha....laughing right here now.. we can say that there are things that money can't buy and it's happiness but some says nowadays happiness can be bought by money, life really is very confusing sometimes, humans in general are indeed very confusing.
