Around this same time last year I got a job and started my first day @ the Bank in March I was very thankful and so ready in time I learn so much I for to do what supervisor did going all the way to ordering money for the bank and making sure its with in the policy. Well yeah in time I learn that I'm the lowest paid teller matter fact person in the branch I to be honey me and the full time worker work the hardest. The supervisor is lazy and the other part timer is realy lazy. Just .. Right now I see it as since I know pretty much everything I can really know and I'm in the process of learning more things outside my position y manager says because of all my hard work and stepping when the supervisor was gone and I had control of all the money I the bank her and the regional have plans for me. I see as make plans fast because at this rate... How lazy most of the people are if not half are I'm going to find me another job I updated my resume got calls and emails from over 5 different companies.. I don't when I apply for the job I wanted to grow with the company not be the same spot forever or for years especially since I'm the lowest paid associate in the branch. Idk I need advice

Hi there, There is nothing wrong in trying to apply for a new company especially if you are not happy and satisfied with the position and salary you have in your current Bank. If there are other banks offering you better salary that the one you're in, then I would suggest you go and join the new Bank. Otherwise just hang on and better to work there for at least 2 or 3 years. Maybe they really have plans of promoting you or raising your salary.

I felt the same thing before. Would you believe I opened it up on our general meeting? And immediately they wrote me a letter to formally inform me that they are raising my salary! In that month itself I got the raise Like you I feel really sad when I learned that someone especially in that case I am like 2 or 3 months ahead of them but they got more salary than mine. The difference is that they already have experience in that field while I am new. But we all are doing the same job so I thought it's unfair so I let the boss know about my feelings.

Wow, that's great enelym001! :) I wonder how you did it? Salaries are supposed to be confidential so how did you deliver your speech with regard to having a lower salary compared to others? Did they not question you on how sure you are about your information or how you obtained it? I think that is a very stupid practice for the management of any company to give a higher salary to new comers compared to the regular employees. It should be in the regular and dependable employees that they should be investing to in terms of higher salary, better benefits and excellent training.

I'm not sure which 'wait' you are referring to. Your discussion didn't really say it, but I'm assuming that your asking if you should wait to get job offers before you quit your job. I think this is the only way to go. It would be unwise to just quit and have nothing to jump on to. Or, if you're asking to wait until March 1 before you ask for a raise, then you could do that too.

I apologize for the. Confusion I was trying to say how I grow at the. Ank and did things that take people years to do and I got words of encouragement and words of thanks for all your hard work. In the end nothing no raise nothing I Guessing that is not in anyone's thought process at my branch that wow he is part time didn't have to work full time and really didn't have to take the vault. There is another part timer and he has been doing his for almost 2 years. Couldn't do it and I have been this 8 months when I took the. Vault so yeah... Yes it would be vey wise to leave when I have a job offer given to me around my belt so that is my Plans if no action is taken for me I'm the lowest paid person and I do I believe I'm one of the most hardest workers In the branch and I'm not bragging or anything I just know this only really 3 of us that work hard rest are lazy

I am a little confused by your discussion because I am not sure I understand it. To me it sounds like you were ready to go out the door because they weren't paying you as much as the others and you were doing more of the work, but then they offered you a promotion. I say find out what the promotion is and if the paygrade is worth it. If it's not double what you could make somewhere else, then it's time to leave. Of course if you can suffer just a bit more money but moving up the ladder, then do that too. Maybe this time a few years from now you'll have even more knowledge and can maybe either move up again or find an even better job. Weigh your options carefully.

First of all: if you start working somewhere you have to prove yourself first. And yes in many businesses you will find out that a part of the people working over there is lazy, they pretend they are hard workers and they get (extra) payed for that. Complaining about this is useless and won't make you popular either. So prove yourself and ASK for more money if you can prove the good work you did. Also say why, to your opinion, you think the work you do deserves better payment. If this is not possible you have 2 options: only do the work you get payed for and not the work of your supervisor or someone else or leave and find a better job.

I understand what your saying, my manager and the regional say they know how I shine out and how much of a hard worker I am and I'm like okay great. So tHey know how hard I work and me complaining is not me I just get it done I just see it this way when you know someone is working there. Butt off and it shows then I see it like this if nothing gets done I see it as well it's time for me to take my career to another level and grow because I can't grow here and I dont see myself growing there at this rate. So I say if your going to promote me do it fast if not at a reasonable time

Sorry to hear that payout. Since you're doing your best with your job but the salary is just too low for you, then maybe you had the right decision to leave the company. As you said, you got call from 5 different companies, maybe this is your calling. I hope that you'll get a new job soon.
