I know that the younger members of mylot would probably wonder what I mean by Nancy Drew and Sweet Valley High. These are books that were quite popular when I was growing up and both were in series. I never finished reading all of the Nancy Drew books but I have read a lot of the Sweet Valley High books. It was so popular during my high school years that my friends and I would trade books. There is also one teenage romance book that I have forgotten the titles or the authors but it was also a popular one those days. So either I never swapped my Nancy Drew series for the Sweet Valley High. I only allowed my friends to borrow these since they were quite expensive. Any one else here read through these books?

Hello anne, I have read almost all of Nancy Drew books but not the Sweet Valley books. During those days, here Hardy Boys books were also very popular which I have read some of! I used to love Nancy Drew a lot and sometimes re read some of the books I still have left!

They used to write Nancy Drew/Hardy Boys crossover books which I'd always buy.

I have been through all those phases where I love Hardy boys and Nancy Drew books from which I went on to Sweet Valley books. We just dont get the Sweet Valley books here in India anymore. But I used to love them.

I used to love reading the Sweet Valley High books back when I was in middle school. I never really started reading the Nancy Drew series (which is weird because it seems like everyone has!), but I was really in the all the Sweet Valley High books and the TV show as well. I never really traded them because when I was reading the Sweet Valley High books no else that I knew was.

I heard a few years ago that the author of the Sweet Valley High book published another book or something like that of it. I'm not sure but that's what I heard and I completely forgot to check up on it or get the new book. I checked IMDB just because you rose my curiosity and one of the Twins had a role in the CW show "The Game" and the other one hasn't really done much. But I was always jealous of them because they were so beautiful and it seems that they have aged really well.

It was the same for me! I haven't even read a single Nancy Drew book (though a lot of people said they're great). The Sweet Valley High TV show as well. I wonder where the twins who played the part are now...

Yes I have! That was my favorite book series Sweet valley High. I think that I read all of them. I didnt read any of the Nancy Drew though. Or the other romance one you were talking about. Im not s huge fan of romance but there were a few that I read once I got older, one was about a captain or a peasant that was in love with the girl that was forbidden for whatever reason,.. I also was a big fan of the baby sitters club. That was so fun.. I miss those days that you could just lay somewhere cozy and read for hours! Its kinda sad that kids today are reading of electronics rather than the book. ~C~

Oh yes, I was a big Nancy Drew fan as well as a Sweet Valley high fan. I rememeber when they made two TV series that aired on Saturdays. One was Nancy Drew and one was Sweet Valley high. I've actually seen the twin actresses who played Elizabeth and Jessica on more recent movie and TV projects. I was sad when the series didn't last long. But I had so many of their books, especially Nancy Drew books.

I never liked the TV series. I still prefer books over movies too. I don't have any of my Nancy Drew books anymore. But I do have one hardbound Hardy Boys book still.

Hi Anne25penn, I have read some of the Nancy Drew books, but not a single Sweet Valley High. Actually i think Hardy Boys books are better than Nancy Drew. I wonder if the series are still in publication. It was a very nice series. I think all students in our younger days definitely had read at least one of these books. It is a pity if they stop writing, and printing.

I was able to see the hardbound original Nancy Drew series (but not the complete set) in our largest bookstore chain. The original writer of the series has stopped writing though.

Yes! Nancy Drew and Hardy Boys books seemed very expensive at those times. I think I should to pay 50 to 75 rupees for one book. And the triple book set was 150. I loved Hardy Boys more than Nancy Drew books. I loved Sweet Valley High and Sweet Valley University books too. They had every kind of relationship in the stories. Relations between friends, romance, sisters and with parents. They were really good.
