i really feel that a hundred person has a hundred definitions of travel~ in china, traveling with a group of people ia very popular, the cost is saving, you gave fees to travel agency, they'll give you a travel plan and a guide and a driver, you don't have to worry about the other things. my mother like this kind of travel, she thinks once you found a good travel plan, you can make yourself in,even if there's 5hours' shopping in the middle, she feels it worthy~ my aunt is different, she seems don't like discovering other places, the greatest thing in a trip is shopping~her boss gave her 2 days in Hongkong(oneday for business one day for free, she spent most time shopping, she bought tons of cloths and cosmetic),i felt surprised she didn't make herself at any fun places or sceneries~~~~ my father holds another different view, he think travel is for those who have both heavy purse and enough time~~~ he often says: a man who is busy struggling to make living, will he give a tiny thought to traveling? so ,he seldom travels,he wants to travel far away for more days when he feels enough for his money he owns~~~ my roomate likes to travel with one or two friends but not in a group or in a decided travel plan~~that sounds good, but the thing is she can't always find a person that could match her time and place,,, none of these are my style of trip! i like to make plans and good preparations before i go there,i'll try to save money, and make the trip to the fullest,i like travel alone, when i enter a new area,i can't help discovering things, try new food, live in a cheap hostel,or couchsurfing~~ so ,what is your kind of travel?

I would describe myself as an independently minded and budget conscious traveler that likes to explore other countries. I am keen on flying to long haul destinations and then going on local trains, buses and ferries. I am keen on staying in locally owned guest houses and in unusual accommodation. I like to meet the local people, see the native wildlife, view the architecture and look at the landscapes. I take photos with my camera and buy souvenirs of my trip. Typically I travel around a region to a few different countries on one of my trips. Last year I traveled to Colombia's Caribbean coast with my daughter and my disabled son. The year before last we traveled to Vancouver and around that sort of area in Canada. There my daughter had her first birthday and I had my thirty eight birthday. So it was a double celebration. Our next trip is next month to Argentina and Chile. I can't wait for it to begin.

Thanks for giving me the best response. I had a walk around Tikal National Park and the guide pointed out far more than I would see on my own. I am so very much looking forward to my trip to Argentina and Chile next month.

thank you for making the detailed description, your travel with kids seems very good. i sometimes become dependent minded when i go to some place that with a small population and not so developing,i'd be a little afraid and i want a local guide or with some people around.

When I travel I am not so concerned about the cost of travel as I save up as much as possible and plan everything out. I prefer to go alone so I am able to do what I want to do when I want to do it. I love traveling, flying and staying in hotels etc. If only I worked for myself I would be able to do more of it.

A true traveler never have a plan. I think if you are really interested to travel you shouldn't be so choosy on what kind of transportation you opt. Sometimes getting lost in a destination is so FUN.

I like to travel around, I guess it doesn't really matter where I go to as long as I can do that. Walking, train, car is fine. I feel restless if I can't travel for a while. I was not able to do this for many years and now I try but it's hard with kids. Someone is asking for people who like to join him to drive from the Netherland (by car) to Africa. I would really like to do that but the journey might be too long and I don't know if I can leave my kids behind for such a long time. But it's really eating me :-(

netherland to africa, is a long way trip~ one should always leave a thing behind before start travel~ for you, your kids is the thing;for me ,the school thing, and job thing for many othersĀ· but i think,if your kids can take care of themselves and no need special care, your half year travel could be acceptble

It's true that different people has different style of travel. I enjoy travelling with lesser people, for eg me and my partner. Travelling with self time control, we will do whatever we want to do, no rushing here and there, taking good rest and spending time visiting some interesting places. Unlike some tour group, which like to do many things in limited time, then end up ruining a trip. By the way, I think travel to a place just to do shopping or buying lots of stuff is really waste of time... : )

I prefer to plan my own trips. When I travelled with my grandmother and her friend we bought an organized tour, because my grandmother wanted it that way, but when I travel on my own or when I travel with my husband I ptefer to plan my own trips. When I plan my own trips I am able to visit exactly the places that I prefer and I can stay as long as I want. I love the freedom that I am have when I plan my own trips. In the last months of 2012 or in 2013 I am going to visit Thailand, Cambodia, Laos and Vietnam and I am going to plan my own trip. I use my guidebooks and the internet and I think that I will be able to plan everything without the help from a travel agency.

travelling is interesting, which broadens one's horizon.also ,it can strengthen people's physical conditions.if you join a team planned by a travel agency, you can shop in the course of travelling.but some people hate it that they have to go to shops when they travel .
