I wonder what they will do now. He killed Red Jon. I was waiting for him to reach over and strangle him. I thought he might take the gun out of the newspaper thru slight-of-hand and kill him. But suddenly, three shots. Then RJ went down. The pocket of his jacket was smoking. He walks to the table and puts down the gun. He wants to pay for his tea. I couldn't believe the lack of sympathy everyone had for the female officer who was shot. She had to tell the other officer to call 911. The Menalist had her drag herself over to the double agent, get the cell phone and call while all the time she has a bullet in her and is bleeding. So what did you think of that episode? I'm glad Hightower and her family are safe. I'm glad the officer didn't marry the double agent. Explains why that guy didn't shoot in another episode, he was on the same side. So what do you think will happen next? He's obviously surrounded and going to get arrested, but then what do you think will happen? Will he escape? Plead what? If he stays.

Since you seem to be way behind, I won't say anything about what has happened. I will say keep watching.

I'll not talk about what happens to Patrick, as you're way behind (ep 14 airs tomorrow in the USA), but about Lisbon being shot and having to tell van Pelt to call for back-up; to be fair to van Pelt, she did just shoot and kill her fiancée. I think she's allowed to be a little slow to respond.

What he would have done isn't the point; she just killed a person she lovd. could you do that and still function?

I don't think you're quite grasping the whole empathy thing.

And if the person who you just shot because they tried to shoot you, who you have just discovered is a complete and total lie and in fact is working for your enemy, IS the most important person in the world to you? If your entire world just got turned upside down? If everything you believed just turned out, in a violent and horrible way, to be a fabrication? Yeah, you might be just a tiny bit too shocked for your automatic responses to even kick in, or kick in a bit more as shooting him was clearly very automatic. Having van Pelt be utterly betrayed by and have to shoot the man she loved enough to marry isn't a nice story line. It's far fetched and the Mentalist is obviously so far from reality it's hilarious (Jane's psychological tools, for example, are ridiculous bunkum), but that little bit of story line was not nice. I mean, stop and really think about it, without the bravado and sharing, for a moment; if your husband, who you are as most people would be, positive would never shoot you, turned out to be in league with a serial killer and you shot him do you honestly think you'd not be a little bit upset?

It is really frustrating knowing what will happen and not wanting to give too much away. Let's just say that the show continues and it is well done. The Mentalist was able to walk it's way out of that cliffhanger. Hope you have the opportunity to see it soon.
