I hate timeline...

I am beginning to hate Facebook now. I don't like the layout anymore. The timeline doesn't look organized for me. I don't like it. You don't know where to look first because there is left and right column. Facebook showed me how my FB page will appear in a timeline layout. I didn't like it, but I can't do anything about it because it will be published to public this Feb. 11, 2012. It's like the users have no choice anymore. Well I guess If they want to do this, then they should also give us an option to change the fonts, the colors, and we should be able to upload .gifs picture so it'd be more fun to look at and it will be more like users have a choice on how they want their page to appear. How about you guys? What can you say about the timeline? Do you hate it to the point that you don't want to use facebook anymore or you're loving FB even more because of it?

This makes me sad that they are supposedly going to switch everything over to Timeline. I also don't like how it looks or feels. It's too disorganized and chaotic in my opinion. I dislike that. I think people should have the options to pick how their page looks instead of forcing everyone to have the 'new' facebook layout. Agh.

Exactly. It's like we have no choice but to just get accustomed to it. I think it is really unfair. I though I was the only one who hates it.

I agree - I like the concept of Timeline, but it is SO completely disorganized. It's hard to find or read things on it :( They should come out with an update soon that makes it easier to read.

I have not been on facebook in quite some time. I have grown weary of the entire thing. I will have to go check out this new timeline deal. I hope you voice your opinion to them. Perhaps they will take your thoughts into consideration.

Yeah.. I think most people I spoke to about this also thinks the same way. We all hate it. But they cannot do anything to change it back. So I told myself I am not going to change it or anything. But I was not able to prevent it from happening because every FB page will soon get there. So, I got tired of using it and now I have decided I don't like Facebook anymore. Well, like you said I think I am getting tired of all the dramas, the show offs etc in FACEBOOK. I guess it'd improve my quality of life once I stop using it. Well, to my opinion FB has one direction to go anyway.. It's actually where Friendster is right now.It will eventually fade away. People will get tired of it and there's gonna be a new one again and then the cycle repeats again.

I love Fb because it is easy to use and you are always updated on your friends but I agree that this timeline thing isn't good at all, it makes the page load more too and it is sometimes laggy. Most of my friends use it but I still don't use it, I hope they don't force other users to get timeline..

I don't like it either. It just looks totally disorganized compared to the old layout. If Facebook is gonna push through with this, I think a lot of people are gonna complain. It'll probably trend on Twitter. ^^
YouTube is also gonna implement a channel makeover on March. I don't like it also (it looks like Timeline), but I have no choice. I guess I should just enjoy the old layout while I can still use it. .

I also feel the same way at first and also tried of quitting Facebook, if not only because of my connection to my friends and relatives. Facebook should have made a poll for timeline first before they lunch it. many of their users are affected and disappointed!

I don't like the timeline too but I don't hate facebook that much. I just hate my timeline because I'm not able to see where my comments are. And if you share posts with photo they are too big on my page. I just hope they make another changes on the layout and come up with a better one.

Yes another thing I hate is the picture. It is big and I just find it too much. Well for sure this is not the final layout.

with regard to your topic, honestly, there is no big deal for me regarding the new look of Facebook. as some of my new friends have shifted their homepage to this new look so i get used on it everytime i logged on to my account. however, perhaps it will be best if there is an option to press if the user decided to shift back to its old look. as there are times, if you are not familiar yet on the new look, you can always revert back to its old interface.

Yeah, I agree with you. It shouldn't have been a big deal if they didn't change my layout without asking me first and if there was an option to revert back to the old one. But there wasn't. They want everyone to be uniform and that's just not what individuality is. You are in FB to share how unique you are, so it should be flexible too as they are dealing with different kinds of people. There should be options and they just didn't care so that's why there wasn't any.

i don't like the new timeline too. it is like mess and is not organize like the one before that the updates are publish on top of the other. and the photos are too large also that it occupies almost the whole screen. for fan page, this will not be a good idea. but i will not leave FB for this and hopefully FB people will make it for organized for the user.

Sometimes consistency helps you stay for long. New gimmicks, new style, new rules may sometimes not work. I guess they shoud have researched more and did more surveys before they made a decision to change the layout for everyone.

that's right, the new timeline makes my eyes go crazy...maybe they were thinking that popularity is not forever so they have to make a change in appearance, to make it feel like it's new and avoid boredom to some users who are always looking for something new. i also believe that they have to listen to their users and not force it to everybody...and whoever made that outline is so not very organize person/s...gosh i think they overdo it. they are so conscious of how popular they are that they dont know what to do anymore...geez...

I'm tired of facebook and youtube at the moment as they are both changing their layouts, not caring at all that their users are unhappy about it. The new facebook layout is as you said very complex and it looks a mess. I hold the same opinion of youtubes new layout as well, it looks complicated and horrible. These sites need to start listening to their users before they lose them.

I don't change my Facebook into its new style which is timeline.I find it slow and complicated,I'm having a hard time to view some friends profile who already used it.Some of my friends who convert into timeline are keep of complaining and just wanted to return to the old style.
I guess its still depends on the person if they will used to it,but for me,I still go for the old style.

I hated it too but I try to familiarize the lay out and it turn out it is better, believe me...It is more organized. The presentation is just right...It really tells your life story the way the viewer, your friends see it easier and understand it better. It's dramatic.

I'd like to think that maybe it could be interesting. But I don't really agree that it is organized. The left and right columns are just too messy. But that's just my opinion though. I hope I'll like it. But I don't think it's possible to like it anymore since I am not going to be on FACEBOOK for a long period of time, for sure. :)

I haven't changed yet. I find it difficult to understand on others accounts. I like to get deals and things, and not sure how that will work either.

Oh? I like the timeline, myself. I don’t stay on facebook much… but I do go there every day. I did some family connections today on there.. one person accepted.. and I’m waiting for others to accept. I like it better than it was before… my daughter taught me how to navigate the site so it’s not a problem with me.
