If gas really does go up...

...To $4 a gallon, like they were saying on the radio the other day.. What will you change about the way you do things? Will you car-pool? Run less errands? Do more ONLINE shopping? Become a home-body? Okay, gas is around $3.40 a gallon here in Minneapolis, Minnesota - but $4 a gallon sounds reallY scary to me. Maybe some of you are already experiencing $4/gallon gas prices, but what if it hiked up even more? I love running around but I might have to turn into a home-body if this happens... Or start biking.... How about you?

Remember when gas did go up to $4+/gal.? 3... 4 years ago? Ouch. Yeah, it hurt, but I still had to go to work (especially then to pay for the gas). Since I worked odd hours of the night, public transportation or even carpooling was not an option. Gawd...had it been. I bit the bullet then, and I suspect I would just bite it again. I hate driving anyway. Where I live the roads are constantly congested and just a PITA to get around. I doubt my driving habits would change since I never do any 'joy riding' to begin with.

It never spiked up more than $4 where I live, four years ago. The most I've paid is around $3.75.

I have already taken my steps, as I have already seen this coming! That gas is getting way too expensive. Last year, I quit my job which was a 40-minute commute one way. I now work literally a couple of minutes drive from home. And then last summer, I bought a bike which I used to get to work.

The higher gas gets, the less we travel. We make sure to do several things for every shopping trip. I'm worry taht it will reach $5.00 by Summer that is what is predicted around here.

If gas prices do keep on going up I will be walking a lot more. My husband has a serious foot condition and is not allowed to drive right now and that has been saving us money. I walk a lot anyway and it does not bother me. I hope gas really does not go up because I want to go to California to see a Dodger Game.

If gas goes up that high I will be really depressed. I love the fact that spring and summer is around the corner and I look forward to the nicer weather. It's hard enough being stuck in the house during the winter but it will be worse if we have to stay in the house in the summer. We would definitely have to do more things at home and not drive all over the world. I guess it would be a good thing to start saving for something like that. But I really would hate to see my savings go to put gas in the vehicle. I really want to use it for a vacation. And I guess we would probably need a bike as well. Something to help save. It's too bad that I live 30 minutes from work.

hmmm... did gas ever go down? :) here in our country, it only goes up. A liter now costs Php58.60 (more than a dollar). Sometimes, the price goes down bu only for a few cents (very few cents). Maybe we should start biking. :)
