Why did you fail?

I failed because you want me to meet my one true love. I failed because you want me to know my real friends. I failed because you want to test my character. I failed because you want me to be strong. I failed because you want me to spread my wings. I failed because you want me to be better. I failed because it’s the only way to understand life. These are my learning about failures. How about you? What did you learned?

I failed because I'm learning. I failed because I didn't try. I failed because I didn't ask how to succeed. My failures help me become a wiser individual. I learn to trust myself and not believe the words of everyone around me. Because I failed once, I'm that much less likely to fail again.

Yes, all these failures must teach us to be wiser. Thank you for sharing.

I failed because God wants me to be humble, that's what I've learned when I failed. When I'm at my lowest point, I think of that as a way for me to listen to God. I never complained why did it happened to be but it made me realize it is a lesson that God wants for me.

All of these amount to "I failed because I, myself, expected to fail". Turn your thinking around, set yourself realistic goals and reject impossible goals that others may impose on you, count your successes rather than your failures and you will soon see that life is about living to the best of your ability, and NOTHING to do with failure.

All of the first six statements express failure to meet goals that others have imposed on you. You 'failed' because you didn't accept or own those goals to start with, whether you achieved the goals or not. Rewrite those statements by replacing "... you want me ..." with "... I wanted to ..." and you will see that they make no sense at all. The last statement ("I failed because it’s the only way to understand life.") doesn't really say anything because it's not specific enough. What is the 'only way to understand life'? If you mean that "Life is ONLY to be understood as a succession of failures", then you are completely wrong. There are many ways of understanding life and that is just one (and a very negative one). Reject it completely and replace it with: ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ "One way of understanding life is as a succession of realistically achievable goals which *I* define and own and as a learning process because every goal which I do not completely achieve encourages me to be more realistic in setting the next set of goals." ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ There are other ways of 'understanding life' which don't involve goals at all but the above statement addresses your particular problem with your way of thinking at the moment.

larish if you do not really expect to succeed you will have already shot yourself in the foot. to succeed in anything you have to first be prepared then believe in yourself, not listen to others nor blame others but expect to succeed and 99 percent of the time you 'will succeed. In your statements you were using you as an excuse for your failure.this anonymous you cannot held to blame for your own actions. expectations are just that expectations, not a guranteed ways to succeed.

Just like Abraham Lincoln story. He failed a lot of times before becoming a president of the US.Don't you think we should also be like him. Failing is part of our life. It depends on how we react on every failure. Are you sure that living has "NOTHING to do with failure"?

Hi larish, Success and failures are part of our life. Like you I too failed in many fields but I tried and dragged myself from the wreck and am now what I wanted to be in my life. I failed to keep my promises and lost one who loved me more than herself. I failed to go apace with time and have not completed my PhD. I failed to keep word and many friends were hurt and now I can not repair them.

I failed because I wasn't able to see what was right in front of me. I failed because I don't study enough. At any rate, my failures don't bother me! It's only another part of life in the end anyway.
