Dressed Like Winter in the House

I'm sitting here with my short slouch boots on, my fingerless gloves and knitted wrap on and it looks like I'm freezing in the house. The heat doesn't reach in this room very well for whatever reason. I had also been thinking of putting a hat on. But I won't. Do you ever feel so cold in the house but just one room, and so therefore get dressed like you're outside with gloves, etc. on? I would never overdress like this normally in the house but maybe since I also don't feel that great today, I'm alittle more colder than usual too.

Hiya nailtech, All the Rooms in this House are very chilly and we don´t have Radiators either as yet. We are making do with a Hot Air Heater but now using it less and less thankfully. If I get very cold I will put all the clothes on I need but I move around a lot so I get hot very quickly then and start taking the Coat off and except for the Boots as my feet get cold much quicker in here brrr it is a really chilly place. This is a very chilly week we are back to so while we know that it will get warmer by Friday that does not take away the very chilly rainy weather we are having right now but we do so need the Rain so I am not one to complain about that as the rest of the year will surely be very dry here which is so typical.xxx

Hiya nailtech, In Spain believe it or not in the Northern Part which has gone from very cold to getting warmer again. Am already into my shoes and lighter Coat again yesterday I was wearing a Winter Coat and Boots today the opposite. However it has gone very cold at Night too. This is quite normal weather in this Month from one extreme to the other. By the time Easter comes around there is a break up of the Weather itself and we have some very strange weather again. So I am not putting any Winter things away just yet for the just in case.xxx

Hi~ the past few or so days has been so unusually warm now already! It's only March too, hoe strange. Then the next several days again it will be back into the normal range of the weather. Crazy. I'm happy with the warmer temps, I can stand warm if it doesn't get too humid and like 90+! Where do you live?

Sometimes I will wear my boots and my coat in the house. It depends on how cold I am. I stayed home from work one day and the heat was set really really low (to like 60 degrees), and so I was FREEZING my butt off! I did turn up the heat in the house, but I sat around all bundled up until I felt it start taking effect. I don't mind. Heck, if it keeps you warm and comfortable, more power to you!

It does, and I'm not having to put all that on today like yesterday as it's alot warmer outside today. It's not a typical february thats for sure.

Yes sometimes when the aircon is too cold. But I wear only jacket and socks and sometimes with blankets too. We don't have winter season here in low lands we don't experienced to much cold even there's a rain. But in the upper part or Northern part of the county they experienced it that's why many tourist prefer to visit there on highlands.

We don't have the air con here right now, as it is in the midst of February but when it is on it doesn't reach in here either, as it's not central air. It's just the facts, I have to live with. :P

The room where my computer and sewing machine are...is the hotest room in the house. Right now it is 52* outside, but about 70* in here and I am always hot! But...then I go out and down the hall to the kitchen and rest of the house and it is like 65* down there and i have to put on sweater, and if watching TV...wrap with an afghan. We have a small room heater in there and that helps alot, but I don't want to heat the rest of the house since we are not in the other rooms much during the day. But it is a drastic and completely noticable difference going from this room to the hallway.. We had the window tinted because. in the summer it is so hot in here that I can't even be in here (just bought house last summer)...literally it is so hot, I have to just close the door about noon and not go back in until the sun goes down. It is in constant sun all day long. Really weird and annoying too!

That happens here in the summer, it will then be the hottest room in the house besides the upstairs area. Yes, that can be annoying, thank goodness right now it's not the same here as yesterday. It is beautiful outside too.

My house is fortunately equipped with central heating, with elements in each room, then warms up quickly. It takes about 10 minutes to have an optimal temperature even when it gets really cold outside. However, I can perfectly understand your problem, probably because your house has few sources of heat to make it a little heated. I really even in the coldest winter days, I did not ever stay at home dressed in a heavy.

You are so lucky, the central heat is amazing. It seems it does have few sources of heat in this house, it's not very new and it's still equipped with the old old radiators!

Hi NailTech, realizing how expensive it cost to heat your home I refuse to be cold at home...I have to be cold when I am out side in the winter.. So far I have been blessed and thank God for helping me get through the winters.. when I am cold I feel it all the way to the bone and I am so miserable...I am not going to be mirsable inside...

Hi bjc66bjc~ You are right about the cost being so high to heat your home, it is ridiculous. I'm not going to suffer with the cold if I can help it either, but since the rest of the house is fine with the heat, I'm not even sure why it doesn't reach in here, so the gloves, etc. are what usually helps for me.

Not to that extreme but my living room is always colder so I wrap up in a blanket...like the room you are in it's always chilly.

We have had the heat on but for some reason the darn heat doesn't reach in my pc room here, I usually just throw on a sweater and it's OK ,but today I had it all one for awhile this afternoon. I just have the sweater on now and not the boots, wrap or gloves.

Hiya Nailtech, My heating Bill has been huge because of using those Hot Air things which consume a lot of Heat in such a short time. My Kids tend to turn up the voltage and use it a lot so now they are going to have to help payout too lol. Not paying this Bill on my own I knew it would be huge. We are looking for a better place but it will take us quite a time and they don´t take Dogs in many many places. Me personally being cold does not suppose a really big problem for me as I am so active however at night here because we are not protected by other Houses and being in open Country makes for much colder Nights than usual.xxx The two back Rooms are cold even in the hottest of Summer as we have already found out.xxx

My living room doesn't seem to get the heat eather. So I have shut off the vents in the other room, to help direct the heat here. I put a large magazine over the vent so the heat couldn't can't get out. It helps a little. I also have a small electric heater in here too. I am trying to be careful how much electicity I use. I don't want the bill to be too high. I am covered up with a blanket and my dog helps keep my legs warm. I'll be glad when spring gets here.

I would do that too if we had any vents to shut off, there is just some old fashioned radiators in here. I hate them but can't do anything about them personally. You're very clever about the electric being conservative, those high bills are nothing to be excited about.
