Writing about places and people

India
February 19, 2012 1:49am CST
I was away from MyLot for about one year. In this one year my life completely changed and took a new direction. I was born and brought up in Eastern India. After getting this job I was posted to the Southern part of India. The beginning was obviously difficult for me, but then slowly I adapted. Writing was my only hobby back home. Though the first few months here were pretty hectic, I finally took up writing again. But now the attitude has changed. I find it more encouraging to write about places and people. I have become, what you say, an amateur anthropologist. Started a new blog www.city-mirror.blogspot.com where I would like to share my experiences. I have a kind of presumption that I will be travelling around the country the rest of my life. That's strenuous, but it will contribute a lot to my writings. Travelling always does. Do you like reading about places and people? Do different cultures and customes inspires your writing faculty? Please share your views with us.

I think that people should always right about what they love and what they know. The more that people do that, the more that people learn about other people and other cultures, and it never hurts to learn as much as you can.

I like to read about places and people because of the fact that there is a lot that you can learn about people and places that you will never have the opportunity to visit in your life. I also like to write about the experiences that I've had in my life and it really makes me happy when there are people that take the time to read the things that I've taken the time to write.

Yes. I like reading about different places and different people especially culture, customs and religion. This helps me to open my mind to other cultures, customs, and places and of course religion. I want to go to other places because I am stuck here in my house. It is not only about the cultures and about customs; it is also about the society. Society interests me a lot.

Yes, that's interesting and what makes it unique is that u are traveling within your own country. With India being a large country, it's natural for it to have different cultures and customs in each area. I'm sure there are a lot of differences between, Eastern, Southern and Northern Indians. Northern indians should be most well known among all, since they are usually rich people and they are much fairer compared to other indians right? With that alone, it would be interesting to know what brings about such changes and differences when all of you are in the same country.

When I travel I do like to write about what I see and learn. I do find it interesting to read what others have to say as well.

I very much enjoy reading about places overseas that I haven't vet been to before or I have visited. I like reading about people of another nationality to me. I think it is great when life changes and a person takes a new exciting direction in his or her life. When I was twenty to twenty one years old I traveled around the world for just over one year. I liked writing up my memories of my trip when I got back home. I hand wrote it in a hard backed notebook. I have it on my bookshelf. I have photo albums of the places I have traveled to. I like the sound of your blog.

I am surprised this discussion is still up. Usually they don't go for pushing your own stuff on here. Hmmm. I like reading about place and people. I also like really good pictures of same. Different cultures and customs are interesting also.

Long time no post getbiswa Good to see you back here in mylot. That was a great leap for you. Although, you say an amateur anthropologists, it is still a positive change in your career. and yes, write about your experiences and you may not regret. I had my chance of going out of my country and I regretted so much not writing about all the experiences I had. No photos even Now, I wish I could go back

Hi biswa... welcome back. Well, i wish to visit several places around the globe but my job does not permit me. I do write about different cultures and customs but it is now limited on my own province as i have mentioned above. You have gotten the chance to enhance your knowledge and i wish you will. have a nice time.
