Discussion Post here in myLot

Lately, I received several notices from mylot that my responses were deleted because the posts I answered were deleted due to a very short paragraph. I am wondering why this happened since I am very careful when I post my response, I always see to it that the discussion I selected is long enough to keep my response from being deleted. So my question is, just how many lines should a discussion be?And why myLot is not very specific in giving guidelines regarding the length of discussion like the limit of lines and paragraph, because up to now, I'd noticed there are still plenty of discussions that are very short.

I am a little confused because you say: 'my responses were deleted because the posts I answered were deleted'. If your response was deleted because the discussion that you responded on was deleted, then it is not your fault but the fault of the user who started the discussion. MyLot do not state anywhere how long or how short our posts should be. There is no reference anywhere to how many lines or how many words we should contribute in each post. How ever they do tell us that our posts should be of quality and relevant to the topic. If what we have to say, in our response or comment, can be said in a few words, then it is far better than rambling on and on about nothing just for the sake of making a longer post. Regarding short discussions which are still available... only the user who posted them knows whether they earnt anything for them or not. Maybe they were missed by admin when they were posted and we can help by reporting them. Maybe many users are not so conscious of what they are earnings, just as long as they are having fun while they are here.

Mylot's notice on email says "Your response is deleted because the discussion (where I posted my response) is deleted due to short lines or something like that. My question is, why mylot allowed the discussion to stay longer earning first several responses before it is deleted?I think they should delete it right away before it will earn more responses so that other members will not waste time answering that discussion.

I had this happen to me yesterday morning. I got two notifications from mylot that my responses were deleted because the questions / discussions were deleted. I am careful, also, not to respond to discussions that I feel might get deleted. I thought that both discussions were good discussions. One was listed in top discussions of the day. That is how I heard about the discussion. Another mylotter has posted a similar discussion to yourself about mylot deleting his discussions / responses. Could there be a glitch in the mylot system?

Maybe there's a glitch in mylot system because of inconsistent reasons on why a discussion is deleted.

It could be that there is a glitch in the system. Some of the deletions might be done automatically by the computer. I think that I later read somewhere else that one of the two discussions deleted had something to do with duplication -- that the same question had been asked over and over. That makes sense.

I have received notices that my response was deleted, too, but never has myLot specified why the post I responded to was deleted. They just send a form letter which covers it all, so perhaps it wasn't that the posts were too short. There could have been another reason.

Yes, maybe there's another reason why the discussion is deleted. But why mylot would allow the discussion to stay for a while? Because it will generate plenty of responses too before it is deleted.

Hi, i often received emails that notify me that some of my posts were deleted because the discussion i respond to is deleted. But i don't pay attention that the reason of the deletion of the original discussions. Well, maybe there are some explainations about the reason of the deletion. Thanks for your reminding. You know, before that, i only think that i respond to some discussion that were against mylot rules because they discussed what should not discuss. From now on, i will be careful and not answer too short discussions, because as you said, it maybe a reason for deletion.

Yes, me too, I am more careful now, because it is really a waste of time answering a discussion only to be deleted in the end.

Notices thru mail don't specifically states why our post was deleted, but clearly says that it was deleted because the topic we responded was deleted. One of the cause for a discussion to be deleted is, because it violated mylot guidelines. Also short post will not be a cause for deletion as long as the comment/response is with quality.

Hmmm...yeah, maybe this is the reason. The discussion is deleted due to violation of mylot's guidelines.

maybe your responses was deleted because it's maybe the starter of the discussion had violated the discussion guidelines. i also received several notices notifying me that my responses were deleted because of the original discussion were it is under was deleted. it's not about the lines/length of your responses.

Ah okay, maybe that's the reason and not because the length of the discussion is too short. Now, I am more careful what discussion to answer.

I didn't think the length of the initial discussion matters. It has more to do with the quality of the post. Lately I've had several responses deleted too but think it was because myLot felt as though I was trying to promote a website to get referrals. No link was posted on my response but do understand myLot has rules that need to be followed.

Oh, that's bad, so far I'd never read a notification with only my response is deleted, usually, it is always the discussion I post my response which deleted. Yes, it's pretty bad because mylot never allows us to promote our blogs and websites hehe.

I have so far not come across the reason for deleting a topic due to a very short paragraph.. Can you elaborate a bit on this please.

Deletion of a post or answers has no relation on how many lines the discussion or response has. Mylot is more appreciative of responses with a high quality than in quantity. By putting more emphasis on quality, more Mylot respondents will be inclined to respond back. Hope I helped.

Hmmm..but mylot's notice on email says the response is deleted because the discussion (where I post my response) is deleted due to short lines.

Hi,jlamela,as far as i know, deletion of a post or discussion has no relation with their lenth.I also got notices couple of times for post deletion, because the original discussion was deleted. My posts generally are on the shorter side but that will effect my earning in mylot not post deletion.Happy mylotting.

... umm, i don't check my messages so i don't know if my responses were deleted. but that is really too bad, my responses are usually longer than the one who started the discussion, what a waste.

Yes, it's really a waste of time trying to post comments then deleted later on.

I also got messages about my post being deleted because the original discussion was deleted. But apparently we have nothing to do with original posts that we answered to, so that's not out fault. I'm also interested how long is enough. I know that quality counts and not quantity, but I'm pretty sure that quality is partly measured in the lines a post contains. I have posted short posts in the past and even if I tried not to repeat others' or my words, I know they were not considered good quality posts.

I have also received notification lately that my response was deleted because the topic it is under was deleted too. I haven't experienced receiving notification saying that my response was deleted because it is too short.

Deletion of a post is due to the theme and not how many lines is in the discussion. im not sure on the rules but i know you cant post lists as its not really a discussion as it could be endless and thats not what Mylot incourage as they want indepth discussion.
