You can know your colleagues' birthday. However, do you know their age, too? This can be a very personal issue and they may mind to let you know their ages.

Knowing age or asking age here in my country is not a big deal. It's not too personal either. When you meet new friends you can ask their age as if asking how many pets they have. It's no big deal and not too personal question here. So, yes, I know my friends, colleagues age - but I forgot their birthday's sometimes :p

Same here, Jai sis. Whenever we meet new friends, we always exchange our age details. It is just very common question, popping out from our mouth. same like you, although i know their age but always forgetting their birthdays. Seems like, my memory banks is not functioning well anymore. Hope you are always doing fine there...

Youless, indeed your suggestion is quite useful. I might want to consider it when i do have time to ask them for their birthday again.

I agree with you. Every person craves for the feeling of appreciation. They would mind it if you would know their birthday, complete name and other personal stuffs you need to know. In that instance, you would develop strong friendship so long as appreciation is there. Good day and happy myLotting.

I forgot to say about the feeling of importance. We crave the feeling of importance just as much as we crave for the feeling of appreciation. It is best to remember that to a person, their name is to be compared to great people. Once again, good day.

Well, that's true. I recommend reading a book by Dale Carnegie entitled "How ti win friends and influence people." Try it, it works wonders. Thanks. Have a good day.

I do know my colleagues' birthdays but it is difficult to ask their age. It's a very personal question and I never ever ask it. But sometimes in conversation when the topic does arise, I do get to know the ages of some of them.

I agree that it's kind of personal to ask them that, but it depends on one's culture. I'm always too shy to ask my colleagues' age because I don't want to offend them (most of them are older than I am). Despite that, I know all their ages. Thanks to Facebook.:)

Yes, I know most of my colleagues' age. Asking or even talking about a person's age is a common topic in my place. It's not very personal.People are usually honest about their age. a male may refer to his wife befor others as "You elder sister" even when his wife is younger.

Hi Youless, when i was still working before, i know all my ex-colleagues ages by asking or without asking them directly. Because i was in the department handling their personal details. For us, it is nothing personal. The very first time we get to know our colleague, we always asking each other age. So, it is not a big issue for us here. Only, we don't really remembered our colleagues birthdays. I only can remembered those who are very close to me.

I know most of their ages. My boss is 33. I am 21. My girl co-workers are 20, 19, 15 and 16, and the only one I don't know is my guy co-worker. I would ASSUME that he was my age, 21, but I actually don't know now that I think about it! . I should ask him next time I see him...

The staff age in your company is so young

Yeah, usually at some point of time, you may be curious to ask that and you can get the answer quite easily (Only some older woman may refuse). If not, for new comers, if you handle their identification cards, you can also see their full date of birth to find out their age. Not that difficult.

In the company where I work, there are just 6 of us and we are somewhat of a family. Sure, there are difficulties, but there are difficulties in every family! However, we all know each other's ages and birthdays. Nobody has a problem with it. We enjoy celebrating one another's birthdays.

I know my colleagues age. Its also very easy to know them coz once you are friends with them, you would add them to your social networking sites which reveals their age. However at times we would feel awkward to go and ask their ages.
